Chapter 33: The Bookstore Turmoil

Augustus stood not far from the Blotted bookstore, looking at Harry and Lockhart, who were surrounded by book lovers.

"What a beautiful smile, Harry." Lockhart himself showed off a mouthful of shiny teeth, "We can both go to the first edition." ”

When he finally let go of Harry's hand, Harry's fingers went numb. He tried to slip back to the Weasleys, but Lockhart's arm was still on his shoulder, holding him firmly by his side.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Lockhart said aloud, waving his hand to silence everyone, "what an extraordinary moment! I would like to take this wonderful occasion to announce a small matter, which I have not said for some time. ”

"When young Harry walked into the Blotted Bookstore to-day, he just wanted to buy my autobiography—I would give it to him for free on the spot—" another round of applause, "but he didn't know what to do," Lockhart continued, and shook Harry so that his glasses slipped to the tip of his nose, "and he will soon get something more valuable than his clumsy, and in fact, he and his classmates will get a real, magical me." Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it is my great pleasure and pride to announce that this September I will be the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!"

Augustus was really shocked by the news, a person with such a low level of magical cultivation actually wanted to be a Hogwarts Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher? What did Dumbledore think, could it be that the teacher of this subject really couldn't find anyone?

"Hey, Mr. Augustus, I didn't expect to meet you here." A voice came from behind Augustus, who turned to his side as Malfoy and his father, Lucius, walked towards the Augustus.

"Lu Xiusi, are you here to take your son to buy books?" Clovis smiled.

"Yes, you know, I want to buy so many books about Lockhart this semester, I wonder if Dumbledore is old and confused, and he would ask this showy Girold to be Draco's Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. In my opinion, this person has no ability at all except for showmanship. Lucius grumbled to Clovis with a somewhat unnatural worn-out book.

"Who knows, Dumbledore must have done it with his deep meaning. Maybe we didn't understand the Tao. Clovis was also obviously not interested in Lockhart, and waved his hand.

"Look, who is this, the famous Harry Potter, you must like that, Potter?" Malfoy suddenly looked like he had discovered some new world, his usual mocking smile on his face. "The famous Harry Potter," Malfoy said, "can't help but make front-page news even into a bookstore." ”

"Don't talk nonsense, he doesn't want that!" Ginny said. It was the first time she had spoken in front of Harry, glaring at Malfoy.

"Potter, you've got a girlfriend!" Malfoy said in a long voice. Ginny's face flushed, and Ron and Hermione squeezed over, each holding a stack of Lockhart's books.

"Oh, it's you," Ron looked at Malfoy as if he saw something disgusting on the soles of his shoes, "you must be surprised to see Harry here, huh?"

"What surprised me even more was to see you enter the store, Weasley." Malfoy scoffed, "I guess your mom and dad are going to be hungry next month to buy those things." ”

Ron blushed and threw the book into the cauldron before charging at Malfoy. Harry and Hermione tugged at his clothes from behind.

"Ron!" Mr. Weasley squeezed over with Fred and George, "What are you doing?" The people here are crazy, let's get out of here. "Ahhhh

It's Mr. Malfoy. He placed one hand on Draco's shoulder, a sneer on his face that was identical to his son's. "Lucius." Mr. Weasley nodded coldly.

"I've heard that my dude is very busy with business," said Mr. Malfoy, "so much scrutiny I think they pay you overtime, right?" He reached into Ginny's cauldron and pulled a tattered copy of the Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration from between the new, shiny Lockhart books>.

Clovis looked at Lucius and Arthur and really didn't know what to say, these two people seemed to be old enemies, as long as they met, nothing good would happen.

"It doesn't seem to be. Oh my God, if you can't even get a good pay, what's the good of being a scum among wizards?" Mr. Weasley's face was redder than Ron and Ginny's.

"We have very different ideas about what the scum of wizards is, Malfoy." He said. "Of course," said Mr. Malfoy. His pale eyes flickered, and his gaze fell on the Grangers, who were watching them with fear. "Look at the friends you've made, Weasley, I thought your family had fallen to the limit."

With a clang, Ginny's cauldron flew out. Mr. Weasley lunged at Mr. Malfoy, knocking him into a bookshelf, dozens of thick spell books falling on their heads. Fred and George yelled, "Beat him, Daddy!" Mrs. Weasley screamed, "Don't do this, Arthur, don't do this!" The crowd panicked and retreated, knocking down more bookshelves. "Gentlemen, it's good—it's good." The clerk shouted. Then a loud voice drowned out all the voices: "Spread out, gentlemen, spread out—"

Augustus looked at the two big men torn together, and couldn't help but shake his head helplessly, doing such a thing under the eyes of everyone on the street was like two ignorant children, Augustus took out his wand and pointed between the two, an invisible wall instantly separated the two, and then the wand turned, and the two retreated backwards as if they were being pulled by an invisible hand.

"Wow. Little girl—hold your book—it's the best thing your dad can give you—" Lucius angrily threw the book to Ginny, waved to Draco, and rushed out of the store.

Augustus casually swept his gaze over the book, a solemn look appeared in his eyes, there seemed to be something wrong with that book, it was obviously not an ordinary book, there seemed to be a powerful amount of magic attached to it, and it was obviously related to black magic.

The Granger were trembling with fear, and Mrs. Weasley was furious. "What would Gilderoy Lockhart think if he had a good head for the kids to fight in public," "He was pleased," said Fred, "didn't you hear us when we came out?" He asked if the guy could include the fight in the story — which he said would be a sensation. ”

Now that the books had been bought, Augustus went on to buy all the magic supplies for the semester, and walked to the corner of Diagon Alley in the sunset, and flew to the manor in the pale yellow sunlight in the huge carriage that had been parked there for a long time.
