Takarazuka gave birth to Tezuka's works

Osamu Tezuka was born in Osaka Prefecture and later moved to Takarazuka City in Hyogo Prefecture. As a teenager, he was very fond of collecting insects, and his pen name "Zhizi" came from this interest. In addition, when he was in elementary school, he often went to see Takarazuka's operas, and since then, works such as "The Rose of Versailles" have been deeply influenced by Takarazuka's style.

Tezuka made his debut as a manga artist at the age of 17 and began to publish his works in Takarazuka Graph, a special issue of Takarazuka Opera. However, in order to officially start his career as a manga artist in Tokyo, Tezuka left Takarazuka and went to Tokyo to start a new life.
