There are more activities in the summer, and there are more opportunities for interviews, although I have interviewed KOTOKO before, but at that time, we did an interview with the Guangzhou branch, and this time I finally had the opportunity to do a face-to-face interview at the headquarters of the magic capital. The interview took place behind the scenes at the Shanghai Centre Theatre, and we interviewed two voice actors, Katsuyuki Konishi and Mitsuki Saiga, in the same place. I would also like to thank all of you for producing the interviews, interviews: Kaedein, camera: Wonton, Timeline: Keiko, post-production: AYA, and concert organizer Genko Culture.
1. First of all, thank you to Ms. KOTOKO for accepting our interview, how did you feel about the successful conclusion of the previous performance in Chengdu?
K: I didn't expect so many people to know me in Chengdu, I was very surprised, and at the same time, the atmosphere was high during the performance, everyone was very involved, and I was very happy
2. The OP of "Silver Will ARGEVOLLEN" in the new July album this time, can you talk about the creative opportunities for this song and any difficulties in the creation?
K: The reason for this animation is that it was created by my company, WARNER Entertainment, and I asked if I wanted to write the song.
I don't think it's more difficult, but I don't encounter anything particularly tricky. However, this work is set in an era full of wars, but our generation has never been exposed to war, so what would it be like to survive a brutal battle? In order to make a suitable work, you must think from the perspective of the character, and have the same mood as the character. It took a lot of time to adjust my mood.
3. What is the difference between a song written and sung by yourself and a song sung by others?
K: If you sing your own songs, you will use a lot of vocabulary that you are good at when composing. If you want to sing a song from someone else, you should first consider the style of the other singer, and if you are a cute girl, you should pay attention to using as many words as possible that feel cute. If you are a cool singer, you should use more lyrics that feel cool. Depending on the singer, the style of the lyrics is decided.
4. In fact, many of Sister K's songs have a close relationship with the story of youth love, I don't know what Sister K thinks about youth and love?
K: Is there a lot of youth and love? I didn't do it on purpose. I feel that no matter how long life is, it is always full of youth; Similarly, there is no age limit for falling in love, so please enjoy falling in love. Even if I am getting older and becoming an old grandfather and grandmother, looking back on my life, it is full of sparkle and brilliance, which is very wonderful. I think even if I became a grandmother, I would not give up pursuing such a life!
5. If you had to choose Sister K, what kind of songs would you try to sing in addition to radio wave songs?
K: I've tried a lot of genres, but the ones I haven't tried are probably reggae and singing. There is no chance of these two styles at the moment.
Although other genres have been tried, they have not been explored and developed too deeply. If I have the chance, I would like to learn more about composition, which will probably help me with my music.
6. The Olympics will be held again in 2020, do you have any favorite sports for Ms. Kotoko?
K: I love baseball. If I were a boy, I would definitely be a baseball player. Favorite teams are: Saitama Seibu Lion (Saitama Seibu ライオンズ, this team is often linked to anime, lucky stars, mountaineering girls and we still don't know the name of the flower we saw on the day of the road) and Hokkaido Japan Ham Fighter (Hokkaido Japan ハムファイターズ).
7. WHAT KIND OF SONGS DOES MISS KOTOKO LIKE TO LISTEN TO, AND CAN YOU RECOMMEND SOME SINGERS AND SONGS FOR CHINESE FANS?
K: I like Spitz very much about Japanese singers, and I have been greatly influenced by them in my lyrics and compositions, and they are also my idols. If you say foreign, it's Björk in Iceland. I like the style of music, and she's also a woman, so there's a lot of things about her that I admire.
8.MS. KOTOKO ALSO OFTEN PERFORMS OVERSEAS, WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE DEEPEST IMPRESSION OF OVERSEAS PERFORMANCES?
K: Every time I perform overseas, I am deeply impressed, but in common, compared to Japanese fans, overseas fans give me a feeling of "live is great", and this enthusiasm is conveyed to me, which makes me more motivated.
9. I have been to China so many times, I must have eaten a lot of Chinese food, do you have any particularly impressive food?
K: Yes. I haven't eaten much Shanghai food yet, but Chengdu's hot pot is super spicy, which is really shocking. My personal favorite food is preserved eggs. Another food that impressed me was the dragon lice that I ate in Guangzhou when I came here 2 years ago.
10. Please give a word to the fans who support you.
K: Hello Chinese fans, thank you all for your continued support. I didn't expect to be able to come to China again to hold a live, and I am very happy to be able to experience everyone's support for me.
After that, to be able to be the third, fourth, fifth... I will continue to meet with you and I will try my best to create better songs to give back to you. Thank you for your support. Thank you so much.
