scp-036 scp-037
Item No: SCP-036
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: Each year, a Mobile Task Force is to be dispatched from Containment Command-02 at [DATA EXPUNGED] to Site-22A to guard the airstrip and airfield in the area. All citizen measures are to be cleared of non-Foundation personnel at 0400 PM on September 23rd, and they are not allowed to return until sunrise the next day. On October 1st, all citizens were again required to evacuate before sunrise, and were not allowed to enter Site 22A until the "pilgrimage flight" returned.
Passengers arriving on "Arrivals Flights" while waiting to board "Pilgrimage Flights" can only be screened by researchers with security clearance level 3 or higher.
Description: SCP-036 consists of a location of its own, Site 22A (a small airport located in the mountains of Mosul in northern Iraq) and Site 22B (the final destination of passengers at Site 22A level). The key components of the 036 are:
"Arrival flight" - an airliner that arrives shortly before sunset on September 23 (it varies from year to year in terms of manufacturer and appearance). It will appear on radar at a distance of 30-40km from the 22A site. When it lands, the "pilgrims" will disembark from the plane and enter the terminal. None of the crew members ever left the plane. Observation revealed only one pilot wearing a mask and one assistant pilot. The plane will depart quickly after all the pilgrims have disembarked, and will never wait for permission to take off, nor will it identify itself when it lands.
"Pilgrims" - passengers of the Yezidi faith who got off the plane and said they were on their way to "kiras guhorîn". Each year they were examined and identified as people of the Yezidi faith who had died during the previous year. This is investigated through birth certificates, photo IDs, questions of special knowledge and, where possible, fingerprinting. Most of them are considered friendly and mild, although most of them are reluctant to give details about Kiras Guhorîn. In the past, they have all appeared to be unable to recognize friends and family or have only some memories that can be retained in a short-term memory span. At the end of the afternoon of September 23, most of the pilgrims begin to emphasize how important their upcoming pilgrimage is. At that point, they will begin to board the "pilgrimage flight" and set off, never to be seen again.
"Pilgrimage Flight" - A passenger aircraft provided by Foundation personnel for the transportation of "Pilgrims", which is operated by a crew of well-trained Yezidi clerics. The crew could never describe well the details about the pilgrims and what exactly was a kiras guhorîn. The SCP equipment on board the plane is capable of operating on an optical plane, but each year only slightly increases our understanding of these pilgrims. Although the plane disappeared for 7 days, the crew and recorded data can only conclude that several hours have passed. Days of time disappeared from the time calculator and camera, though no anomalies were observed. The aircraft disappeared from radar and lost visual contact with ground personnel at a distance of approximately 50-60 from Site 22A until it returned at sunrise on October 1.
Site 22B - the final destination of the "Pilgrimage Flight". It was a small airport consisting of only one building and one runway, located at coordinates [DATA EXPUNGED]. It can only be recorded by the "pilgrimage group" and the camera equipment on the plane. It did not appear on satellite images, and attempts to reach the site on foot failed, and at one time even brought heavy losses. The camera has problems focusing on the location, as the heat from the ground evaporation often creates a mirage-like visual effect on objects tens of meters away from the aircraft. A glimpse of the site by an SCP reconnaissance aircraft several weeks prior to the pilgrimage revealed only unexplored earth and an object resembling an ancient stone statue. In the 90s of the 20th century, Mobile Task Force Sigma-4 wanted to reach Site 22B during the pilgrimage. As soon as they approached, the communication was cut off, and they were never heard of again. During the 7 days of the pilgrimage, no other exploration activities are recommended.
Initially, the Kurdish-speaking Yazidi carried out their pilgrimage in secret. Pilgrims from the East were sent to the Yezidi priesthood by masked armed guards, who explained that they would take the pilgrims to the west, to their "underworld", where they would be waiting to be "reborn" as Yazidis. The word "kiras guhorîn", which literally means "dress-up" in Kurdish, is used to describe the belief in the rebirth of the souls of lower-status Yazidi believers. Although the actual pilgrimage has been carried out in secret, a symbolic pilgrimage and "kiras guhorîn" is carried out every year by other Yezidi devotees at this time.
In the 60s of the 20th century, Kurdish and Muslim squatters, Turkish attacks, and punitive decrees issued by the Islamic Iraqi government restricted the movement and traditions of Yazidi adherents. During that time, the Foundation intervened and provided assistance in the form of a favorable clause that allowed Foundation aircraft to land at the airport without restrictions. Almost at the same time, a mysterious plane carrying the pilgrims came from the east and landed at the local airport, where the elusive airfield also appeared.
Item No: SCP-037
Security level: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-037 is to be kept magnetically in Area-12. It is kept in a small chamber wrapped with a 1m thick thermal/radiation insulating compound and kept in a vacuum. If the integrity of the containment is compromised, the backup system will generate a low-energy argon ion shield until it is repaired. Regional staff are required to provide temperature-controlled clothing to personnel maintaining quarantine measures to avoid heat stroke. In one incident, [DATA EXPUNGED].
Description: This unnatural object was discovered in 19██ near the magnetic north pole of the Beaufort Sea. The Canadian Outpost (CFS) Alert reported strong electromagnetic interference, accompanied by a very bright object descending from the sky into the sea. The destroyer SCPS Guardian reacted and discovered a wobbly object approximately 200 meters above the water's surface, which was subsequently restrained and transferred to Area 32 for study.
SCP-037 appears to be a star 5 centimeters (approximately 2 inches) in diameter, 1*10-12 times brighter than the Sun, and has a surface temperature of approximately 5000 K (as measured by UBVIR analysis). The origin and age of SCP-037 are unknown; In any case, its atomic activity needs to be carefully monitored to show if there is any risky behavior. Although it is not known whether it currently applies to theories of stellar decay, spectral analyses and comparisons still suggest that this is a typical (different from its atypical size) star that undergoes a rapid transformation into a red giant. It is believed to enter the Earth's magnetosphere from the North Magnetic Pole.
SCP-037 has been suppressed and transported by strong electromagnets, and it will move itself in response to its own magnetic field. After ██ years of research, the star's electromagnetic radiation has changed, indicating that the star is undergoing a stellar evolution at an extremely rapid rate. According to the stellar model, this will quickly cause its radius to expand by a factor of 100 to 300. Therefore, emergency containment measures are prepared. Eventually, the star will transform into a supernova, possibly producing ███████████. This is expected to happen in ███████████. Ways to avoid this development are being studied.
