scp-028 scp-030

Item No: SCP-028

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: To date, SCP-028 has not shown any changes in size, position, or shape, and therefore does not require special containment at this time, but access to SCP-028 must be restricted. As SCP-028 cannot be transferred by any known means, it is currently stored at Site █. SCP-2028 is enclosed by a 6Mx6Mx6M concrete room, with the only door guarded by two armed personnel. Only authorized personnel are to be exposed to SCP-028, and must be under constant care. While SCP-028 itself is harmless, its effects can be devastating to unprepared. (See Document EL-028-1125)

Description: SCP-028 is located in an abandoned freight yard outside of a copper mine in Northern Michigan. SCP-028 does not possess any detectable physical form, but its area of effect is a 2.1 meter square on one side, which is usually used as the "center" of SCP-028. No scans or tests of SCP-028 have shown any anomalies. Adding or removing items, or attempting to remove dirt beneath an area of SCP-028, will not affect the shape, size, onset and properties of the affected area.

Targets who "enter" SCP-028 will be struck with complete knowledge of an object within 3 to 6 seconds. The knowledge that emerges is completely random in scale and usefulness, and is sometimes overlooked for some time after it takes effect. More "deeper" knowledge tends to have a stronger impact, such as [REDACTED: see Document EL-028-1125]. This effect can be experienced multiple times through repeated entry and exit from SCP-028, but after two times it may cause increasing migraines and dizziness.

After researching news that local miners had submitted the design of a cold fusion reactor to the U.S. Patent Office, SCP-028 came to the Foundation's attention. Mr. ███ reported that the knowledge [about the cold fusion reactor] "just came to my mind like a bolt from the blue!" "Following the discovery of SCP-028, news reports were censored, the subject was kept in storage, and the reactor design was used in the custody of SCP-███. Subsequent experimentation with SCP-028 has yielded mixed results.

Item No: SCP-029

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-029 is to be kept in a Level 5 isolation cell. No physical contact with her is permitted. To prevent her from escaping, her cell was placed behind an airlock door. After Incident 029-43a, the subject was no longer fed, as if the subject did not need such things to survive. Outside her cell, three guards are on duty throughout the day, and two guards are in the monitoring room.

Floodlights are mounted on the walls of the isolation vessel and must be kept illuminated at all times. Container cleaning is done once a month and any possible omissions are detected.

Under no circumstances and for any reason is no male to come into contact with SCP-029. Any male who comes into contact with the target is to be placed in Level 3 detention until terminated.

SCP-029 requests the following items:

1 bed (refused)

A blanket (refused)

Some Books (Refused)

Some clothes (refused)

This is ridiculous! Does this girl not even have clothes? We're not animals, so let her have clothes to cover her shame! - Dr. Ericka Bodeen

Dr. Bodeen, you have permission to deliver clothing-Dr. Light to SCP-029

Following Incident 029-53b, anyone with potential contact with SCP-029 must first view 029-Bodeen's surveillance footage as a warning of their work with SCP objects, specifically SCP-029.

Description: SCP-029 appears to be a young female of Indian descent. It seems that she has suffered from systemic hair loss, and her skin pigment is more than 80% pure black, and the rest of her skin is completely deficient in melanin, similar to albinism. Her eyes are also pure black.

SCP-029 has a severe homicidal tendency and has shown a noteworthy ability to turn any object into a potential weapon. Either way, she seems to be more inclined to strangle her victims than to kill them by bloodshed. SCP-029 has proven to be extremely agile, physically up to 4 times faster than a normal human. SCP-029 has also shown to be highly resistant to any form of damage. All of these additional abilities are greatly diminished by luminous objects or direct light, whether natural or artificial. Additionally, any male who approaches the vicinity of SCP-29, an area defined as her range of perception, will be driven by her will. These people will become willingly willing to fight for her, or even die for her.

SCP-029 claims to be ████████, which roughly translates to "Daughter of Darkness", "Daughter of Shadows", or "Daughter of the Night". Investigation of SCP-029 has confirmed that the target is difficult to navigate, as the target has been attempting to kill or convert anyone they talk to. During the years she had been imprisoned, the black patches on her skin had been expanding.

SCP-029 first came to the Foundation's attention when an agent worked in rural India. An incident that nearly threatened his life led him to discover a handful of so-called "Thuggees" who claimed to be the service of their "daughters". Weeks of investigation revealed that they believed that by sacrificing the lives of a million people to the Daughter of Darkness, the world would usher in the apocalyptic year "Kali Yuga", who would resurrect their goddess and destroy the world. At the same time, they believed that sacrifice had to be carried out by strangling the victim in order to succeed. Through these events, the agent tracked down their fortress in the mountains, where he discovered SCP-029. When contact with the agents was severed, [DATA EXPUNGED], and finally we were able to capture SCP-029.

Addendum: Seven years after the target was captured, SCP-029 began to exhibit an unusual increase in pigmentation. When asked about this, she claimed that her "followers are moving again." The investigation led us to the discovery of a subset of the so-called "Thuggees" who escaped from our first attack. After discovering that all the followers of the target were there to prepare their religious holiday, a tactical air strike was carried out. When the first bomb lands, SCP-029 awoke from its slumber and roared. The subject continued to roar for the next 4 hours, incoherently yelling at us to "kill her people". Following this event, the subject's pigmentation ceased entirely. Following this incident, SCP-029 began to actively attempt to escape.

Item No: SCP-030

Safety level: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-030 is to be contained in a modified humanoid containment chamber at Site-17. Modifications include adjustments made to suit their size, such as appropriately sized work tables and chairs. The brightness of the room can be adjusted to a maximum of 2000 lumens by a simple dimmer at the request of SCP-030. If SCP-030 needs to be brought into an inert state, staff may turn off the lights via an external switch and close blackout curtains if necessary. Standard night vision equipment has been provided to allow observation of SCP-030 in its inert state.

SCP-030 may request materials for individual research once every 90 days. All previously requested materials will be collected and destroyed before new materials are given. All materials are to be evaluated and screened by researchers and security personnel. SCP-030 is forbidden to acquire any modern scientific journals or documents, and is to be provided with writing no later than 1623 CE, in order to ensure the integrity of its inherent knowledge.

Personnel wishing to communicate with SCP-030 in writing are to submit a formal request (Document #30-RS/B) to the current Research Director. All correspondence is kept. Personnel wishing to communicate with SCP-030 in person are to submit a formal request (Document 030-RP/, 17-030/A) to the Site Director at least 30 days prior to the date of the exchange. All communications are recorded and saved. Senior researchers may request that SCP-030 be temporarily removed from its containment chamber for up to one hour to provide an onlooker's perspective on unrestricted material or events within Site-17. SCP-030 is not to leave Site-17 under any circumstances. The request must be submitted to the Site Director and Security personnel in person at least 30 days prior to the date of the quarantine release. All observed unblocking events are recorded and saved. SCP-030 is equipped with tracking devices (Device Control Code #030-17-1), allowing it to accurately determine its location within Site-17 at all times.

Description: SCP-030 appears to be a hairless, asexual, gray-skinned human, 71 cm (28 ft) tall and weighing 12.70 kg (distone in the old unit). Its solid blue eyeballs have no discernible iris or pupils and look like small cut sapphires. SCP-030 has an indistinguishable voice and a distinctly British accent, but is currently unable to subdivide into any modern region. It is capable of conversing and reading and writing in Ancient Greek, Latin, Italian, English, Spanish, Portuguese, and two (2) languages that are currently unintelligible (although SCP-030 insists that they should be "common sense"). SCP-030 also displays knowledge of physics, chemistry, astronomy, mathematics, and horticulture at roughly the same level as a 17th-century academy. In addition, SCP-030 has demonstrated knowledge of historically undocumented research directions in these areas. These avenues of research, which are unconventional in the natural sciences, or completely unknown, are one of the uses of SCP-030 in communication.

SCP-030 remains active when a light source with a brightness of 15 lumens or more is present within 1.5 meters (5 inches). In the absence of light, SCP-030 enters an inert state, becoming visibly unconscious and showing no signs of life. After five to ten (5-10) seconds of reexposure to light, SCP-030 will become active again, appearing to wake up from a nap, regardless of the length of time it has previously been inactive. SCP-030 does not appear to require those inactive periods of time in the same way that humans need to sleep, and has shown a desire to remain active for as long as possible.

Vivisection of SCP-030 has not been conclusive. Clay from Kent, Surrey, and Greater London in the United Kingdom made up the majority of the body, and traces of mandrake (Mandragora officinarum), ash water, mercury, and human blood were found in all samples extracted. SCP-030 has stated that a full course of exploratory surgery for the purpose of discovering its mechanism may render it incapable of continuing to exist. The portion of SCP-030 that was sampled will not be restored, so sampling is currently suspended to preserve its integrity. Although capable of injuring SCP-030, it does not appear to feel pain, and only reshapes the damaged part of its structure. It should be noted that while various tools can be used to alter its surface, SCP-030 cannot be directly reshaped with human hands. SCP-030 does not breathe, has no material needs, and produces no waste; It does ask for a bath infrequently, though.

SCP-030 refers to itself as "Ariel" and frequently asks staff to do the same. Questions about how SCP-030 was created and who created it were invariably answered programmatically: "I was told to forget this part of the information. I'm sorry. "SCP-030 responds to questions related to its origin and creator in the same tone and rhythm each time.

SCP-030 was discovered on 6/12/████ during a forced archaeological survey of the London borough of Mortlake, triggered by a parking lot to be built. It was buried about 2.7 m (9 ft) under the street and housed inside a small sarcophagus. The sarcophagus was not marked, and it was assumed to be the coffin of a dead baby given that another grave was found in the survey area. The lid of the coffin shattered during investigation, exposing SCP-030 to sunlight. Upon a sudden burst of sunlight, SCP-030 awoke from its inert state within seconds and made a gentle gesture of "good afternoon" to the construction crew. A member of the Foundation's Greater London Reconnaissance Unit was summoned to the scene within hours and kept the sample unhindered. A limited number of witnesses were amnesticized and released.

9/14/████: A positioning system has been installed on SCP-030.

12/21/████: SCP-030 reports a malfunction of its positioning system. Repairs were completed within six (6) hours. SCP-030 offered to help, but was denied for security reasons.

3/13/████: SCP-030 completed an 18-axis workshop on the unknown language Alpha ("Zephyr"), with five (5) researchers presumed to be familiar with it. The dictionary was uploaded to O5-█.

7/2/████: During the exchange, the researcher ██████████ inadvertently said a few words about optoelectronic technology. Communication was discontinued until further elaboration by the investigator.

8/12/████: SCP-030 requests a portion of magnesium and states that it intends to ignite the sample in order to study the light it produces. The request was denied by the investigator.

11/14/████: Incident 030-1: SCP-030 appears to have constructed an item/device capable of emitting high-energy directed ultraviolet light by unknown means, using only standard potting soil, ginger (Zingiber officinale), a 72-gram rutile quartz, and 23 cm of coiled copper wire. The device was confiscated. It is not possible to replicate its effects without the direct intervention of SCP-030. Researchers are currently deliberating whether or not this line of research for SCP-030 is permitted. It is theorized that SCP-030 may be researching non-traditional or anomalous manifestations of the photoelectric effect, after only very little information has been obtained about the photoelectric effect. All research on SCP-030 has been suspended, and the materials it has obtained have been confiscated pending further review.
