Chapter 975: Educating Sentient Beings

Narayan Bodhisattva said: The world is two. The emptiness of the world, that is, the exit from the world, in which there is no entry or exit, no overflow or dispersion, is the only way to enter the world.

Narayan is a transliteration of Sanskrit, and Narayan Bodhisattva is Vajrayana Hercules Bodhisattva, which is equal to the Vajra Tibetan Bodhisattva of Tantra. The name means that it is unbreakable, and it will not be defeated at any time.

Most of the bodhisattvas who manifest their teachings are kind and kind-eyed, with their eyes half-open and half-closed, which is the way to conform to the world, conform to the concept of people in the world, and think that cultivators should be so kind.

The Manifest Teachings believe that glaring at people with evil eyes is a violation of the bodhisattva vows. However, bodhisattvas also follow the Dharma, because kindness alone cannot educate all people, and sometimes they have to use the opposite teachings to show the angry eyes of Vajra, so that people are afraid of it, so they dare not have delusions.

The means are different, but the goal is the same, and they are all for the purpose of educating sentient beings.

There is a famous mountain called Laoshan in Qingdao, Shandong, which was originally a holy place of Taoism, after Buddhism was introduced into the Central Plains, some great arhats who had miraculous powers found that this Laoshan was also the dojo of the Bodhisattva, so Laoshan was called Na Luo Yan Cave, sometimes I saw the author of some books said that the book was written in Na Luo Yan Cave, and I knew that he was writing a book in Lao Mountain.

As mentioned earlier, the Bodhisattva of Pure Liberation has attained the non-duality of the Dharma of doing and not doing things, and there is no contradiction, and then he can enter the WTO.

Mahayana Bodhisattvas are all entering the world, so the Bodhisattva statues sculpted by Buddhism have almost no monks, except for the Bodhisattva of the King of the Earth, which we have mentioned many times.

To truly enter the WTO, one must have the unbreakable spirit of Vajra, which is the realm reported by Yeroyan Bodhisattva.

Generally, we use the dichotomy to see the birth and the entry into the world, how to achieve the birth and entry into the world that the Bodhisattva Luo Yan talked about?

It depends on inner cultivation.

When we enter the WTO, all our actions and thoughts must be able to be empty as a body.

In Zen parlance, the present is what it is.

When you go into the mountains to cultivate, before you see emptiness, you still have troubles when you enter the mountains. If you can do it in the process of entering the WTO, you will be empty, and you will not be shaken by the influence of the worldly law, and you will not need to enter the mountain and already be born.

That is to say, the body is not a monk, but the heart is already a monk. Thinking of emptiness in the world, neither scattered nor drowsy, and not nervous and hectic in the heart, is called the only way to enter the world.

The name of this bodhisattva tells us that his practice path is to never leave the world, to cultivate the worldly dharma, and finally to attain enlightenment.

This is also what the Six Patriarchs said in the "Altar Sutra": "Buddhism is in the world, and it is not separated from the world." Leaving the world to find Bodhi is just like asking for a rabbit's horns. ”

The Bodhisattva of Good Intentions said: Nirvana of life and death is two. If you see life and death, then there is no life and death, and there is no bondage and no solution, otherwise it will not perish. If it is the solution, it is the only way to enter the way.

The name of this bodhisattva is easy to understand, but this kindness has another meaning: being good at understanding the application of consciousness.

When consciousness is liberated, delusions are already empty.

In terms of consciousness, the sixth consciousness of an enlightened person is not called the sixth consciousness, but is transformed into wisdom and becomes the realm of wisdom, which is called the wisdom of wonderful observation.

The goodwill here is the role of wonderful observation. A bodhisattva of good intentions is a person whose consciousness has been transferred, and he can live and die, and the segmented life and death are absolute.

Ordinary people in the world are in the midst of segmented life and death. Our lives are meant to be eternal, but in the phenomenal view there are life and death, and after living for decades, we are gone. This is a segmented role in the whole life, so there is also reincarnation.

For example, it is commonly recorded in ancient times that if someone can predict when he is going to die, he will notify others first, and then he will leave with his legs crossed.

In the eyes of ordinary people, being able to cultivate to this point seems to be life and death, but in fact, it is not necessarily.

He can live and die in this segment, but he may not be able to fundamentally change life and death. Change of life and death is very detailed, here, I will not report in detail, everyone is still early from this realm, now as long as there is a concept first, segmented life and death and change of life and death are all life and death issues.

The only person who can truly complete life and death is those who have become Buddhas and attain nirvana. Nirvana is not death, it is immortal.

Life and death and nirvana are two opposing phenomena, many of you like to learn Zen, preach enlightenment, what do you do when you become enlightened?

When you are enlightened, you will attain nirvana, life and death. Of course, you, like me, have been talking for a long time, not only can you not live or die, but you can't even get sick, and you are still in the middle of a cold at any time.

Of course, did the Zen patriarchs not get sick or catch a cold when they realized the Tao? Not necessarily, but also sick. My Buddha was also sick. But although in sickness, in old age and death, after all, it is different from ordinary unenlightened ordinary people, there are differences in the same, and there are different other karmas in the common karma.

The real nirvana is immortality, if it is Taoist immortality, it is not nirvana, and it will come again. Immortality is a small section between the two ends of life and death, and in the big question, he is still in life and death, and this concept must be clearly distinguished.
