Chapter 1017: How Vimala Lay Scholars Learn Buddhism (Part II)

Needless to say, the sixth sentence "Defeat foolishness with wisdom". As I said earlier, if you can study the relationship between the Ten Good Karmic Paths and Eastern and Western cultures, at least you will be very good at studying Buddhist theories.

The seventh sentence "the one who says the way to eliminate the eight tribulations" is often mentioned in Buddhism, and we have mentioned the three calamities before.

This "difficulty" is the difficulty of difficulty.

Sometimes, however, when you see someone asking someone a difficult question, this is asking someone a difficult question, not trying to ask someone a difficult question.

The eight difficulties are the eight great difficulties in learning Buddhism, which hinder us from learning Buddhism.

Generally speaking, it is said that you cannot learn Buddhism in these three paths, but further speaking, it is not the case, and the Mahayana path asserts that there are still incarnations of bodhisattvas in these three paths to save sentient beings, which we will not go into detail here.

The other five difficulties are: first, blindness, deafness, and scabies, second, the wisdom of the world, and third, the Buddha's former and posterior Buddhas, these are the obstacles to humane learning Buddhism, and they can be overcome if we are determined to study, so the Buddhist scriptures say that our world is bittersweet, so we should strive to pursue the true meaning.

Fourth, it is difficult to learn Buddhism, although the people of Beiju Luzhou enjoy it materially and spiritually, but they will never get the truth and wisdom, so it is also one of the disasters, as the saying goes, "It is difficult to be rich and rich, and it is difficult to give to poverty." ”

Fifth, there is no thought of heaven or cloud longevity, and if you delay meditation and do not hear the Dharma, it is also a disaster.

The eight difficulties I have talked about are the eight kinds of difficulties that cannot be broken, but in our world, there are many bodhisattvas who have all kinds of ways to educate people to break through this difficulty.

There are many ways to break through if you play it. I won't go into detail here, but by relying on your understanding, you can break through.

Helping sentient beings to break through the eight difficulties and cultivate the path like this is not found in other Buddha countries.

The eighth sentence is "to enjoy the Hinayana with the Mahayana method." Originally, there was only one vehicle for Buddhism, for example, I met an old monk who preached the Lotus Sutra for you every Thursday, and he was an orthodox lecturer, and I can't compare with him, I can't count this as a lecture, but just do basic Dharma research with you.

I encourage everyone to learn from him, if the old master is nirvana, there will be no one to teach the Tiantai sect.

Why am I mentioning this? I just remembered that the Lotus Sutra said that Buddhism has only one vehicle, and there is no three-by-five vehicle, but the one-vehicle path is supreme, and it is too difficult.

Therefore, the Buddha's method of education is divided into sound, hearing, and enlightenment, and so on, and there are all kinds of conveniences, which are not found in other Buddha Pure Lands.

For example, if we look at the Three Sutras of the Pure Land, there is only one sentence of Amitabha Buddha in the world of bliss, and this sutra says later that it is completely different from the statements of other Buddha worlds, and we can compare the principles of the Buddha world in the Huayan Sutra, so we have a special method of attainment in this world.

In the ninth sentence, "Helping those who have no virtue with the root of all goodness", the great bodhisattvas of the good knowledge of this world often use their own practice to help people with deep evil roots, and influence them in various ways, which is also different from other Buddha worlds.

Finally, the tenth sentence, "Attaining sentient beings with the four senses", the great bodhisattvas of this world practice the four methods (generosity, love words, beneficial actions, and colleagues), which is also not found in other Buddha worlds.

When Vimala said these ten kinds of good karma, he didn't say it to the Bodhisattvas of the Buddha Country, and these Bodhisattvas didn't understand, they were singing double reeds with Vimala, but in fact he was talking about listening to all beings in this world, and learning Buddhism is to take these ten routes.

The Bodhisattva said: "How many methods has the Bodhisattva achieved, walking without sores and warts in this world, and being born in the Pure Land? ”

The bodhisattvas of the Buddha Kingdom of Xiangji raised a question, which is precisely the question of bringing karma to rebirth or eliminating karma to rebirth in the Pure Land.

He asked, "Those who practice the Mahayana Bodhisattva path should achieve several methods of cultivation so that they can live in this world, become perfect in character and behavior, and be reborn in the Pure Land after death?" ”

Sores are sores and warts are fibrosarcomas. Sores and warts do not hinder life, but they can bring pain to life and are a pathology.

People are sick in their behavior, and I am very unruly and unqualified to be a Buddhist, so I am especially afraid of religious people, because many people who believe in religion take a religious ruler to measure others.

Look at this person is not a bodhisattva, that person is not qualified to be a priest, but he never measures himself.

This is a big mistake, and a true student of Buddhism should demand only of himself and not of others.

No one is inevitably sick, and even the actions of bodhisattvas are sometimes sick.
