Chapter 1065 - Divine Power of Ease (2)
If it is for you, you must be scolded, this Matsu is simply crazy! But Pang Jushi realized it as soon as he heard it. What is the rationale for this? Later, some people explained indiscriminately, saying that sitting in zazen until the qi and pulse stopped, it was to suck up the water of the Xijiang River in one gulp, which was really incomprehensible.
After Pang Jushi became enlightened, he carried all his family wealth to the center of the river by boat and sank. Why is that? It is recorded elsewhere that he was asked why he did not go to almsgiving. He said that if a person has no money, he will not do bad things, and if he gives money to others, this person will do bad things, that is, he will help people create bad karma, so he would rather sink his property into the river. Fortunately, their family has enlightened, otherwise this would be okay, and it would be strange if his wife didn't mess with him.
At this time, their family was surrounded by four walls, and they lived by weaving baskets, and they relied on their own labor to eat, not a life of unearned gains. This is also the lesson of Pang Jushi's fellow disciple brother Baizhang Zen Master, Baizhang advocated "not working for a day, not eating for a day", and he still farmed when he was seventy or eighty years old.
One day, Pang Jushi sighed and said, "Difficult! Difficult! Difficult! "He is preaching that enlightenment is difficult," ten oil hemp trees on the stall. "It seems that if you want to spread ten loads of sesame oil on the tree, of course the sesame oil will not stop on the tree, it must flow down, and it is as difficult as swallowing the water of the Xijiang River in the same mouthful.
When his wife heard this, she answered him, "Easy! Easy! Easy! The ancestor of the head of the hundred grasses. "There is the Tao everywhere, and it is not necessary to study the Vimala Sutra.
His husband and wife seemed to be arguing for Bodhi, and his daughter Pang Lingzhao heard it and said, "It's not difficult, it's not easy." Hungry to eat, sleepy to sleep. "That's all there is to Buddhism, nothing difficult or easy.
Pang Jushi once said that supernatural powers and wonderful uses are like carrying water and carrying firewood. What are supernatural powers? You can see with your eyes, you can hear with your ears, and you can drink tea when it comes, these are all supernatural powers! It's a magical power.
In addition to this supernatural power, they are all ghost powers. How did you grow up? How can you speak? How do you remember things? How do you understand the Vimala Sutra? What is it that allows you to do it? You can't find it, this is the incredible freedom of the supernatural power, everyone is ready-made, where else to learn?
To be ordinary is to be a Buddha. Ordinary people study Buddhism and become crazy people, and they refuse to be ordinary. After enlightenment, the Buddha sighed that "all sentient beings have the wisdom and virtue of the Buddha", all of them are Buddhas, and everyone has all the wisdom and virtues of the Buddha, so why can't they be enlightened? "It is not attainable because of delusional attachment." Then as long as you don't have delusions and are not attached, isn't it simple? You say, yes, so I'm getting rid of delusions every day. Alas, isn't your delusional thought also delusional attachment? So you can't even drink a jar of water, let alone a river of water.
The Buddha became a monk at the age of nineteen and pursued asceticism for twelve years, and his stomach was flattened with hunger. Later, when he realized that this was not the Tao, he came out to receive offerings from others. A few people who had been cultivating with him left him, thinking that the Buddha had broken the vows. The Buddha was replenished with nutrients before he could sit under the Bodhi tree for seven days and attain enlightenment. Therefore, after enlightenment, he sighed: "All sentient beings have the wisdom and virtue of the Buddha, but they cannot attain it with delusional attachment. ”
Originally, the Buddha was about to enter Nirvana after enlightenment, but Shati Huan and other celestial beings implored him to stay and educate sentient beings. The Buddha said, "Stop! Stop! "Don't persuade me," I can't think of it. "The Dharma is incredible, and ordinary people like to do it in thought, so how can we talk about it? Later, the celestial beings pleaded again and again, so they first talked about Hinayana for the world, which was relatively simple and clear, and finally said Mahayana. I talked about this for forty-nine years, and I didn't leave until I was eighty-one years old.
This is the meaning of the patriarch from the west, just in the midst of eating and drinking tea, why do many of you young people come here to listen to the scriptures? I see that you can't open your eyes, and sleeping when you're tired is the Dharma! Still meditating there, afraid to sleep. I don't dare to sleep, how can I have the ability to drink all the water of the Xijiang River in one gulp?
