Chapter 992: Three Lines

Fukuda Bodhisattva said: Blessing, crime, and immobility two. The three elements of solidity are emptiness. If there is emptiness, there is no blessing, no crime, and no immobility. Those who do not fall through these three lines are the only way to enter the world.

The monk's robe, with a piece on it, is called Futian Yi, symbolizing that the monk is planting a blessing field for sentient beings.

Now Futian Bodhisattva is talking about the line for us, what is the line?

It's behavior, action. Being a human being is either doing good deeds (good deeds) or sins (evil deeds) every day, so he will be rewarded with good deeds or evil deeds.

If you only sleep every day and don't do good or evil, then there is still a reward, and there is no retribution. If you don't have a record, you will become a pig, because if you don't have a record, you will be sinful, and you will be dizzy, of course, but it will be a negative evil.

Immovable action is a good deed, which has attained the Tao, is not empty but empty, and is naturally pure.

Mencius said that his cultivation was "forty without being moved", and he was a scholar and cultivator from a young age, and only at the age of forty did he dare to say that he was not moved.

Confucius also said that you should not be "confused" until you are forty years old, and if you are not confused, you will not be moved. But not being moved is not considered enlightenment, and Confucius and Mencius did not realize it until he was forty years old.

At what age did Confucius become enlightened, you ask?

At the age of fifty, he "knew the destiny of heaven at fifty" and broke the first hurdle.

Ten years of hard work, "sixty and ear smooth", breaking the heavy barrier.

After another ten years of hard work, "seventy and do what you want without hesitation", you can break through the three levels and achieve it.

Confucius was very hard, he was an orphan, he had to be self-reliant at the age of twelve, raise a stepmother, and raise a pair of half-brothers and sisters.

Although it was so hard, at the age of fifteen, he had set his ambition to "aspire to learn". It is not until the age of forty that you do not move your heart, which shows that it is difficult not to move.

Therefore, these three kinds of actions, good deeds are rewarded with good, sins are rewarded with evil, and immovable actions are rewarded by cultivating bodhi fruits.

Normally, these three elements are different, but in fact, these three actions are all in one thought, because "the three elements are emptiness." If you want to see emptiness from here, you will really see emptiness, and neither good nor evil will be touched.

As I said earlier, Confucius and Mencius had not yet realized the Tao when he was forty years old, and he had to further know that the emptiness of the three elements was the way to enlightenment.

If you enter the only way, you are right to do good deeds, you are right to commit crimes, and you are right not to move, that is the realm of bodhisattvas, and only then can you plant blessed fields for sentient beings, which is not something that ordinary people can imagine.

Monks should pay attention, you have to reflect on what qualifications you have to wear Futian clothes and plant Futian for all sentient beings.

If you don't practice well with this garment, the retribution will be very serious, and you won't even get a human body in the next life. So if someone comes to the lecture in a robe, I don't dare to sit on it, because it represents the spirit.

In the same way, I can't scold someone when he wears a robe, which is in line with the old saying "don't look at the face of the monk but look at the face of the Buddha".

However, it is true that "putting on a robe is more important", and it is true that becoming a monk is not only for oneself, but also for the sake of saving all sentient beings and planting a blessed field for all sentient beings.

Therefore, your cultivation is for the sake of all sentient beings, and when you achieve it, you have to benefit others, and of course there are more things.

This phrase is also used to criticize the monks for climbing more. Bodhisattvas are affectionate and compassionate, and from the state of perfection, bodhisattvas can also be said to be infatuated and unliberated. On the other hand, if a person has no emotions, he is not qualified to learn Mahayana, and he is also a Hinayana arhat, which is selfish. So there is a poem that says:

Only say that the monk can be enlightened, who knows that becoming a Buddha is more affectionate.
