Chapter 7: Broken Thinking
"Do it here?"
Keisha took another look at the swarm, and when she saw that they were not behaving in any unusual ways, she turned back and crouched beside the corpse of the ethereal, forcibly dissecting the corpse with a dagger without a hilt.
She had never done anything like this, and she had only seen her mother kill chickens a few times.
There was Kane's erroneous demonstration before, so when disemboweling, Keisha was extra careful, trying her best to avoid the slurry and flesh in the ethereal body from splashing onto her skin.
Those things are terrifying, like the opposite of matter, and once combined with the flesh and skin, they will leave a wound that cancels out in pairs.
It took some time, and the heart was finally plucked out of the cartilage's protection, and placed on the ethereal armor.
Like an eggshell containing a punctured yolk, the purple viscous energy slowly gushes out like sesame paste in rice balls, dripping to the ground, their presence distorting the air, sending out black smoke from the dissolution of the substance from the rocks.
Seeing this, Keisha couldn't help but wonder if this thing could save people? Why didn't these things kill themselves in the first place?
"Give it to me, hurry."
Keisha heard Kane urging behind her, and she turned around anxiously, but she didn't expect that the limp heart made of void energy was too flirtatious and slippery, and was thrown out by the centrifugal force of her turn, which happened to hit the nail plate of her arm.
The nail piece immediately began to greedily absorb the energy, and a web of purple light appeared in the notch, and the writhing pale substance stitched the notch together, like a weaver sewing on a tattered blanket.
If you don't pay attention, your heart is already half sucked.
Keisha frantically tried to shake it off and leave some for Kane, but was eventually swallowed by the uncontrolled armor on her body.
"I'm sorry, I... I didn't mean to......"
Keisha wept as she looked up at Kane and saw that his face had turned pale, in stark contrast to the black veins.
Then he fell to his knees, the sparkle in his eyes dimmed, and it was difficult to discern in the darkness.
It was a look of hope in vain.
Keisha chuckled inwardly, realizing that she had messed things up and that she was going to have very bad consequences.
"I'm going to find another heart, please, you don't... Don't ......"
Keisha held Kane by the hands of a great panic that gripped her, and she tried to make amends, her humble tone as if she was pleading with the Grim Reaper's twin Chijue not to take everything from her.
"Don't do stupid things, you can't fight against so many ethereals alone, take me out of here first."
Kane put his arm around Kesha's neck with the last of his strength, preventing her from leaving him.
His tone seemed to give orders, giving her the illusion that she still had some strength to spare, and Kesha's shoulders trembled a little, and she helped him into the tunnel in frustration.
It wasn't until she reached a safe place that Keisha gently lowered Kane.
But when he let go, he collapsed directly to the ground, weak, leaving only a pair of eyes that would close at any time, looking at Keisha weakly and confusedly.
The body eroded by the void, life has come to an end, and the world has left her again.
Seeing him like this, Keisha felt that everything in front of her was dark.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry...... I was wrong...... Please... Please...... No... Don't leave! ”
Despair reigned over us, suffocating like a shroud, and the sound of broken cries echoed through the tunnels, engulfed in the boundless darkness. The eternal purple light has never been shaken for half a minute, and it is more indifferent than death.
Keisha lowered her head, a streak of air hitting her face. She saw Kane's lips twitch slightly, as if he had something to say.
She wiped away her tears and carefully pressed her ear to listen for the whispers.
"Live, Keisha ......"
There is only one instruction, with endless apologies, and they can't live together.
When the sound was silent, only the sound of breathing was like a gossamer, Keisha could no longer suppress the sadness in her heart, and twitched her nose and burst into tears.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry......"
She went crazy, apologizing and poking her dagger at her arm.
In her understanding, Kane wanted this thing on her body, and after all this happened, she was now eager to rip it off and put it on Kane.
Maybe that would save his life, even if he might die because of it......
The dagger left a notch on her armarmor, and Keisha seemed to see hope, gritting her teeth and stabbing her own armarmor with all her might.
Determined to save Kane, she broke through the self-protection mechanism, and the dagger slice through the arm, and purple glowing blood splattered on Kane's face, and Keisha felt the pain to her bones.
Beneath the hideous wound, she saw her own skin, lifeless blood, like the skin of a blind-eyed reptile burrowing under the rubble of the desert.
And the incision of the arm armor is like a purple bruised abyss, revealing the light of nothingness, as if leading to another world.
The disgusting sight in front of her made her even more disgusted with herself, but now was not the time to think about it.
Keisha lowered her arm and poured the strange blood from the incision in her armour on Kane's blackened and shrunken left arm.
After all this, Kane showed no signs of improvement, and Keisha felt that the energy given to him was not enough, so she grabbed her spear and ran towards the place where the swarm had gathered earlier.
"You must wait for me, wait for me to bring you a good heart!"
Kesha's footsteps faded in, and Kane was alone in the darkness.
The purple blood on the cheeks travels down the eye socket and into the corners of the eye, penetrating into the blood vessels of the retina.
The eyes were the closest place to the brain, and when the void energy spread down the blood vessels to his brain, strange and unknowable energy instantly filled his mind.
Hunger.
Engulf.
A terrifying sense of nothingness flooded his mind, and Kane caught a glimpse of eternal illusion in a strange purple light.
Digestion.
Annihilation.
As his mind and memories began to turn into a terrible void, he began to be unable to remember his original name immediately.
It's not just these that disappear, it's pain, perception, sound, light...... I can't feel it at all.
The things that are not seen have gone to the other side of the realm, to some extent under the plane, where there is not even a concept of time.
True vanity.
He began to lose his ability to remember his existence, and he was being erased from existence. He knew what he was going through, but he didn't know the cause and the process.
Something terrible was wriggling inside him, eating away at his brain, his mind was beginning to crumble and disintegrate, everything was being dismantled and sent to that place where there was nothing but darkness and cold.
The thing's greed wandered through memory, devouring it with impunity, and finally rushed into the forbidden area, touching his bottom line
- Memories of another world.
In an instant, the arm that was originally black and necrotic suddenly clenched into a fist......
