Volume 16 Homecoming

With the exam week at the end of my exam, I was finally able to go home. It was the first time that someone had been so far away from home for so long. Although I salivate the barbecue and barbecue in the Northeast, I miss the sticky rice balls, xiao long bao, salted soy milk, and delicious dried vegetable cakes in my hometown at the moment.

When I was a child, the living conditions at home were not very good, and eating dried vegetables and cakes was a luxury for me. When a hot piece of dried vegetable cake was handed to me, I couldn't bear to bite down on it, for fear it would disappear too quickly. That's why I like to use my thumb and forefinger to carefully pinch out the fatty dices and dried vegetables on the bread surface, and then put them in my mouth and chew them carefully. It wasn't until there was really nothing to clip that I dared to take a small bite of the most flour corner. Even if you are reluctant, you still have to lose what you want to lose......

When I grew up and had some change at my disposal, it was no longer so difficult to eat dried vegetables. I don't "cherish" it so much anymore, and I take a big bite, the fat but not greasy fat precipitates a sweet taste under the seasoning of the dried vegetables, and the flour with meat oil neutralizes the salty taste of the dried vegetables, and after a while of chewing, I don't wait to swallow it, and I take a big bite...... When his mouth was full of the fragrance of dried vegetables, he stretched his neck and swallowed.

When I went to high school and had evening self-study, although I didn't like to eat supper, I often couldn't resist the temptation of dried vegetables, but it was not only the taste that attracted me. Every day when it's cold, it's 9 o'clock after self-study. And because I don't like the fast pace, when my classmate Pineapple and I went out of school, the campus was already very empty. After crossing the East Bridge, I was usually left alone on the way home, and even though it was really late, I still rode my little folding bike slowly, enjoying the short slowness after a stressful day. When you arrive at the entrance of the cinema, sometimes there is a small night market. I also felt a little chilly, so I stopped at the stall selling dried vegetables and asked for two, and made a short break by the oven. I watched the boss skillfully knead the dough and filling, then press it with a rolling pin, and then stick it on the inner wall of the oven, and use tongs to dial the charcoal fire in the oven (then you can give money), because the dried vegetables are very thin, so one side is quickly cooked, and the boss uses tongs to remove and clamp on the fire to bake the other side...... It's not far from home, so I'll start enjoying it when I get home. Because it's two, it feels like eating a sandwich. And because it cooled for a while, the flour part was very chewy and not hot in the mouth. Of course, I also ate very slowly, slowly enjoying the deliciousness, enjoying the remaining warmth, enjoying the temporary relaxation and slow rhythm.

When I went to college, this kind of food turned out to be a luxury, but fortunately it was not goodbye.

Since it was the first time I went home, I didn't have much experience, so I stuffed a lot of things in my big bags and small bags, but I didn't buy souvenirs. In the Northeast there are three treasures, ginseng, deer antler velvet and large mink. I'm a college student, and I definitely can't afford to buy a mink, and I don't advocate it. Cha Ha Chong has a lot of ginseng, but according to my personality and experience, I probably bought a bag of white radishes and went home. Before I went home, there were some classmates at school who were peddling them, but I couldn't believe my ability, so I just gave up.

At that time, there was no rail transit to the airport, so you needed to take a bus or taxi to the city center. In view of the fact that he has so much luggage, he can only spend unjustly money.

After almost three hours of flight, the plane landed at the airport. I took my luggage and arrived at the exit to find that my parents were already waiting there. On the way to the parking lot, I saw that my dad was really old, and although his hair was shaved short, the gray hair could not be covered by the green silk...... In the car, I saw a lot of wrinkles on my mother's hands, and my skin was no longer shiny, and listening to the lively nephew screaming "uncle, uncle", I really saw that my mother was old. They are really old, but they are still trying to make my life better, and I feel sorry for them instantly.

We didn't go straight home, but attended a family dinner in the provincial capital. I was naturally the one who was mentioned the most, I was the first full-fledged undergraduate student in my family, and my elders had high hopes for me, especially my 80-year-old uncle who kept giving me a thumbs up. Children are always good at home, and my parents are proud to share their memories with everyone. In their minds, "obedient", "hard-working", and "conscious" are my labels. The happier they talked, the more uncomfortable I became, and I excused myself from the conversation because I had some tinnitus when I got off the plane. I ate on my own, for fear that my expression would betray me.

It feels very cordial to go home after half a year's absence, and in the evening my mother specially cooked a lot of dishes that I used to love to eat, and I devoured them like I had eaten every year for half a year. After dinner, I went downstairs with difficulty on my round belly, planning to see what changes have happened in my hometown in the past six months, and I especially want to meet those high school classmates who I haven't seen for half a year......
