In the first two winters, due to technical reasons and conditions, the very simple appeal of eating seafood in winter could not be achieved, but I did not expect this problem to be solved in a short period of time, the only regret is that the time is not enough to make the reserves less!

The first time I put down my things after returning home from the fish pond, I jumped into the pool to wash my whole body, which is not too convenient compared to the previous method of slowly rinsing and rinsing.

The sand and salt stains on the body are cleaned off the moment you enter the water, which not only cleans you up but also takes less time than before, and does not waste extra fresh water.

The only fact that cannot be changed is that if it does not rain for a period of time, there will be a shortage of water inside, or even dry up, which is a problem and a problem that cannot be solved!

Unless there are building materials such as cement to make the bottom of the pool completely impermeable, and a pavilion on top of it is built to reduce evaporation caused by direct sunlight, these are just unrealistic assumptions!

I don't care if the number of fish is not enough, anyway, I can still fish and cultivate my sentiment when I have nothing to do in winter.

But it's always a good thing to reserve more food, the amount of 80 catties is still far from expectations, you can only see if the temperature can rise after the weather is fine, and if you pick up, you can go to the sea for a few more days to reserve more marine fish, at least to reduce the demand for mutton!

The sweet potatoes are almost ripe, but I am not in a hurry to dig them out of the ground, and I still plan to build the roof of the second room first, which can remove one of my worries!

The first room, which was a little cramped, was able to free up space for relative abundance again, and the first room would be used as my bedroom, the second for food and tools, and possibly a few stacks of firewood just in case.

It basically took about a year in the time span, and after nearly a year of hard work, although there were hardships, sweat, and pain, it was worth rejoicing that I finally had the most luxurious residence since I came to the island.

At the same time, it is also the safest place to live, and you don't have to worry about housing problems in the future!

At this time, the mood is a little excited, as if after several years of hard work, I finally bought a house in my favorite city, and the feeling is almost the same.

The completion of the house once made me think that I could do nothing, but when I woke up, I realized that the task of the previous year was still very difficult, especially the sweet potatoes should have been dug out of the ground a long time ago.

Of course, there are pros and cons, during this time, I didn't mow the grass for the sheep mainly because of the sweet potato vines to support, and now after the sweet potatoes are dug out, I can only go to the woods to mow the grass before the greens are ripe!

The rain in the last two months must have been on my way, and when I was about to dig sweet potatoes, I didn't expect another rain to come, and it had been raining for a whole week, leaving me bored in the house.

A week later, the rain passed and the sky was clear, but the weather never picked up, and it was destined that the temperature would be difficult to go up again.

I started to make some preparations for the arrival of winter, and after each meal, the charcoal would be sandwiched into a special clay pot to extinguish and store, collect all kinds of firewood and dried leaves for the fire, wash all kinds of clothes used last winter, etc., and always be prepared when I did my job!

This will be the third winter to be spent on the island, and the first winter can be said to be quite miserable, starving and freezing.

Last winter's was much better because of the supplies on the fishing boats, but it wasn't much better!

This is also due to the fact that the winter temperature on the island itself is still relatively high, and the winter time is relatively late, and under normal circumstances, it can reach more than ten degrees, and the weather will drop to a few degrees when it rains and winds.

If you spend the winter in a sub-zero environment, your life will definitely not be as chic as it is now, and you will even have the chance of freezing to death in the first winter.

This winter should be even better, with more food, everything is on track, and there are more sturdy houses!

After being delayed one after another, I was finally able to dig sweet potatoes, although sweet potatoes were always served during this period.

The unit yield of sweet potatoes this year is about the same as last year, and it may be slightly better because of the better climate, but the area is several times larger than last year, so the number of sweet potatoes harvested has reached an exaggerated number.

Although the yield of more than half an acre is not as exaggerated as that of professional planting of sweet potatoes, the yield per mu is tens of thousands of catties, but it also reaches an astonishing 1,200 catties!

This amount was unimaginable when I first arrived on the island, even if I removed 200 catties to use as seeds for the next season, I could eat as much as 1,000 catties!

1000 pounds, even if I only eat it every day, it can meet my consumption for at least four or five months, and I can fly happily when I think of it!

The house has just been built, the sweet potatoes have been harvested again, and the recent rare transfer has made me even a little uncomfortable, and I feel that this is the most stress-free moment in more than two years on the island, and I am relaxed......

It took four days to dig out more than 1,000 catties of sweet potatoes and a few sweet potato vines, and the way to deal with them was simpler, digging a big pit directly in the ground, burying almost 1,000 catties into it and covering it, as long as it was not blown by the wind, the sweet potatoes could be kept for a long time.

On the surface, these five days looked very relaxed, but I felt more tired than when I built the house, and I kept digging and picking up sweet potatoes, and my waist was about to break!

Sweet potatoes are not stored for a long time like corn, and they can only be stored until March or April after the year, which is very dangerous, and even a small amount will start to rot within two or three months.

But there is no need to worry too much about the quantity, at least the corn fed to the chickens can be replaced with sweet potatoes, so that the corn can be saved, after all, the corn can be kept for several years, and the corn saved is also in the ration.

My meal plus the appetite of six chickens, I basically consume about ten catties a day, not to mention that so many sheep occasionally have to add meals, that is the real bottomless pit, at least twenty catties to be fed at a time.

So 1,000 catties looks like a lot, and it's not much, but it's just three or four months' worth of food.

It's not that I don't know, at this time, I found that the food consumed in a year is really not a small amount, fortunately I found corn and sweet potatoes, otherwise such a large consumption would be terrible to think about!

Over the next few months, my staple food changed from a combination of corn and fish to a sweet potato feast, and I was finally able to change the flavor and fish from a staple to a side dish.

Sweet potatoes are sweet and soft, with an excellent taste, rich in various essential nutrients, for me compared to tortillas, I don't know how delicious it is, thinking that the food in the next few months is sweet potatoes, I don't reject it at all, and even have a feeling of anticipation!

The texture of sweet potatoes is hard to get tired of, and I do it in a variety of ways, in addition to the most common roasted sweet potatoes, there are also steamed sweet potatoes, peeled and cooked in a clay pot with water.

It's just a pity that there is no rice on the island, sweet potatoes and rice are steamed in a pot, and then the sweet potatoes are crushed into a puree and stirred with rice, which makes the mouth water!

While eating fresh sweet potatoes, I was also thinking about making some dried sweet potatoes, also known as dried sweet potatoes.

Dried mango is very good as a snack, but the quantity is too small, and I think it is very suitable to make some dried sweet potatoes when the number of sweet potatoes is so sufficient, and then take out the dried sweet potatoes and eat them after the supply of fresh sweet potatoes is cut off.

This is a great idea, not only as a daily snack, but also as a substitute for dried sweet potatoes when you miss the taste of sweet potatoes in the future, and to use some as soon as possible to reduce the loss of rot after being stored for too long!

The steps of making it can be said to be quite worry-free, first of all, the good-looking, large sweet potatoes are cleaned, cut in half, and put in the pot to steam for about half an hour.

Then the first step is completed when it can be easily penetrated with chopsticks, and after taking it out and letting it cool, the outer skin is peeled off and cut into long strips with a diameter of one to two centimeters to dry.

Actually, it would be easier and more time-saving to cut into slices, but I don't think of these, but the slices take up more space, and if you want to make the clay pot hold more, you have to cut it into smaller strips!

At the beginning, dried mango as a snack made me enjoy eating, so I made a lot of it at once, so there was no place to dry it, because the texture of the cooked sweet potatoes was sticky and soft, and there was no way to dry them on the ground.

In the end, I had to remove the straw mat from the room, clean it, spread it on the floor and use it to dry the sweet potato fries, and add all the other utensils such as stools in the house to dry everything.

It's just that the recent sun is not as hot as in summer, which has prolonged the drying process a lot, and what can be dried in the summer with only two suns has been dried for four days this season.

The result was a good result, the dried sweet potatoes filled two clay pots, and now the sweet potatoes don't need them this season, and when the sweet potatoes disappear next year, it will be time for them to come into play!

And the taste is quite good, except for the hard texture, it is completely qualified as a snack!
