Volume 1 Chapter 89 Transforming the Sheepfold
Today I plan to go to the island four times around, I haven't been there for a long time, more than the previous time interval of ten days and a half a month.
This kind of weather and temperature sun protection measures must be indispensable, the face and body are smeared with a layer of mud, the head is wearing a hat, and the costume of a primitive savage is alive, sometimes it is a little funny to see your own appearance!
The beach was washed up by huge waves and a lot of garbage, but there was never such a good thing as a fishing boat washed up with supplies!
The old fishing boat was still in its original location, but after two years, it was rusty, and I emptied everything I could move, so there was no need to go up again.
Let it sit here as a souvenir, every time you pass by it, you can't help but look at it a few more times, at least I am still grateful to it in my heart, without its arrival, I probably still live a life without clothes!
In other respects, it is estimated that copper hoes are used to dig the ground, and there are no potatoes and iron tools, and it is impossible to have the ability to keep chickens and sheep in captivity......
That's why there is the saying "people are not rich without windfalls, and horses are not fertile without night grass", which is simply a wise saying when I think about it now.
......
There is a lot of garbage on the beach today, just useful and like last time, very little!
I only picked up a few plastic bottles and a paint bucket, and as my vision improved, many things slowly disappeared into my eyes.
However, in the second half of the way, I saw the skeleton of a big fish on the beach in front of me, not that I was in a trance and thought that the previous shark wreckage was it, because it was completely different locations!
It can't be said that only the skeleton is completely left, and there is a puddle of rotten flesh on the ground that smells so bad that I almost vomit when I sniff in the distance, which instantly reminds people of the smell of being in the boat again, and suddenly the feeling of nausea comes up......
I really didn't want to get closer, my curiosity only drove me closer to a position about thirty meters away from it, and it took me a minute to observe it.
Its body shape is similar to that of the original shark, but it is slightly smaller overall, and since there is no flesh on the surface, I can only guess its species based on the skeleton, and finally I think it is fundamentally different from the shark.
Its mouth is not the bloody mouth of a shark, but it is very small, and its nose is more than twenty or thirty centimeters forward, and when you see the bones in front of your nose, the truth of the matter is obvious.
It's a --- dolphin!
I have the impression that the dolphins in those aquariums are smart, cute, and very docile to people, and when I was a child, I saw a lot of news about dolphins rescuing victims in the sea.
If I had found it in time, I would have brought it back into the sea, but it's too late to say that, it's a pity!
After all, the situation some time ago did not allow me to come to the beach every once in a while to hang out, and now the weather once stranded on the shore, it only takes an hour or two to memorize, and a day and night will deteriorate!
Pack up your mood and move on, but you haven't found anything behind, just find a rope more than ten meters long on the beach.
There are not many ropes at home, if it is not for the long rope at the beginning, the early living conditions and construction work may face great trouble, and the fishing boats behind have added some, and there is not much left until now!
......
After returning home, I was not idle, after more than ten days of air-dried bricks and tiles can be fired, although it is not as urgent as before, but then the temperature is higher in August and September, so I simply fire it out now.
Maybe it's because God has rarely accepted my thoughts, and the typhoon is coming again in the process of installing the kiln!
When the bricks in a kiln are only half loaded, they have to face a halfway stoppage, and they have to spend effort to cover the kiln installed, which is also unlucky......
Happily, because the path is relatively far away, the wind is similar to several typhoons last year, and the impact is very hateful!
However, the kiln firing time was delayed for two days, and the bricks and tiles placed in the open air were wet with heavy rain, and it took a day or two to dry before firing could begin.
As soon as the typhoon passed, I went to the beach to check if there were any new supplies, and I lost a lot of things because I missed a few good opportunities.
However, after four or five hours of travel, I found nothing, and I could only return home disappointed, which should be the most unfruitful after several typhoons, and I didn't even pick up two plastic bottles.
Five days later, another kiln bricks and tiles were fired, and this time it was much smoother, and the kiln was loaded and fired until the bricks and tiles were built in a special place without rain affecting the progress.
After the materials are ready, the problem of the sheepfold can be further solved.
The problem of the sheepfold is similar to the chicken pen, the area is relatively narrow, the sunny day is fine, I don't want to go in on a rainy day, the sheep are trampled on it and I can't bear to see it!
......
At the beginning of the sheep hunting, the number of sheep was only five, so the overall area of the sheepfold was not large, and the sheep hunting at that time was very anxious, and the preparation was quite hurried, at this time it seemed very necessary to renovate.
Of course, I thought that the bigger the better, but seeing that the weather has become hot again, and I don't have that much courage and demand, I decided to expand it by about 20 square meters for the time being.
It is not necessary to use bricks to expand the area, but the number of stakes is in great demand, and it is quite unfriendly to cut trees and carry wood in the woods during this season, and you will sweat profusely in half an hour.
In order to prevent a situation like last year's heat stroke, I could only choose four or five hours in the morning and evening, and of course the progress was relatively slow, and I could only collect about ten wooden stakes every day.
It took five days to collect forty or fifty wooden stakes alone, which is the reason why there are more arm-thick trees in the woods, otherwise the efficiency would have been lower!
After the required materials were ready, I started work without delay, and the days were getting hotter and hotter day by day, and it was also the season when typhoons were most frequent.
I was worried that the rope would not be secure after being left for too long, and I did not want to catch them one by one, but did not move the current sheepfold for the first time.
Wooden stakes are driven directly on the perimeter side of the existing sheepfold until three or four meters away.
The size of the wooden stake is still about 1.8 meters, and I deliberately moved a stool out of the house to stand on it to successfully drive the stake into the ground.
After driving all thirty or forty wooden stakes into the ground and tying them horizontally with several long logs throughout the day, the walls of the enlarged sheepfold were completed.
......
I started to remove some of the wooden stakes of the original sheepfold, which surprised me, it was supposed to be a smooth thing, but during the demolition process, I found that some of the wooden stakes slowly began to decay, and several of them were corroded by ants to the point that only empty shells remained!
If you find such a situation, you must replace it immediately, and it seems that the workload will increase again!
And it took half an hour to carefully check all the wooden stakes around the former sheepfold, and found that there were more than one or two seriously corroded, and finally found seven or eight.
It seems that I was lucky, but fortunately I came up with the idea of renovating the sheepfold, otherwise when the stake was knocked down by the sheep, the sheep would definitely run away.
Although they should not go too far to adapt to their current lifestyle, there are still risks, and anything can happen when the sky is high and the sea is wide.
Even if I go to the field and make all kinds of crops cheap, it is the result I don't want to see, and I can't afford it!
I used all the existing wooden stakes, so I spent an extra day collecting nearly ten wooden stakes to replace the problems one by one, and the renovation plan that I didn't think was complicated also made me feel a little troublesome at this time.
However, there are still advantages, when the sheepfold was built, there was no strict control of the wood, mixed in a lot of relatively inferior wood, not only the hardness is not enough, but also easy to be eaten by insects.
The re-selected wood is basically two kinds of wood that I think have better hardness, which is not as mixed as before, and it is guaranteed to be used for three to five years without a problem.
But the remaining twenty or thirty old wooden piles can only be checked regularly in the future, and replaced one by one when there is a situation, and now that the weather is too hot, I don't want to spend any more time looking for wood in the woods.
......
The original irregular round sheepfold was transformed into a relatively regular rectangle after I transformed, and the area was further expanded to about 50 square meters, raising more than 10 sheep is basically not a problem, and now these sheep are running in it!
After the removal of more than a dozen wooden stakes in the middle partition, the area suddenly doubled, and a few sheep were still in a state of confusion, perhaps they did not believe that their residence would change so much.
It wasn't until a few minutes later that a few mischievous lambs were the first to run into the increased range, followed by a few larger lambs.
I noticed that they didn't seem to look at me differently, maybe they saw the small building turned into a villa, and they were thanking me in their hearts!
Hehe......
The expansion process of the sheepfold fence was more difficult than I imagined, during which I always thought about resting for two days after completion, but after thinking about it, I still think that it is better to do it in one step, and then rest slowly after I have done it!
So I started to move the bricks from a distance and spread them to the ground near the sheepfold tile shed, the environment inside is still too bad, and after laying the bricks, both the flat ground and the collection of feces and urine can be improved!
At present, the main fertilizers for crops are sheep manure and plant ash, and the credit of a few sheep is still not small, without their manure, the crop yield will definitely be reduced by more than 10 percent.
The process of laying bricks is much more complicated, and when laying the ground, it is similar to the situation encountered in the construction of a tile shed, and from time to time there will be sheep around to make trouble and monitor, making the already slow progress even more slow.
Moreover, the storage location of the bricks is too far away, hundreds of meters away from the sheepfold, and it is good to be able to move more than ten bricks in one trip.
There is no better way to do this, but to reduce the area of the original plan to less than 1,000 bricks, so that it can only be paved to more than 20 square meters, basically accounting for nearly half of the area of the sheepfold.
It took three days to complete the planned 1,000 bricks, and the whole sheepfold looked very different from the previous one.
