(7) Postpartum insomnia

Postpartum insomnia refers to the insomnia caused by postpartum loss of qi and blood and mental stress, and is often a complication of other diseases. Excessive blood loss during and after childbirth, blood injury due to qi consumption, blood loss and nourishment of the heart, restlessness and insomnia; Or the mother is usually depressed, worried and timid, and frightened after childbirth.

The main symptoms are insomnia, palpitations, lack of sleep, dreams, paleness, dizziness, fatigue, sleepiness, and sluggishness.

(1) The patient should be placed in a supine position, and the surgeon should use his thumb to rub the patient's Yintang, Baihui, Taiyang, Neiguan, and Shenmen acupoints for 3~5 minutes, and the force should be light and gentle, see this figure (1).

(2) Immediately following the above method, the surgeon uses the palm of his right hand to rub clockwise on the patient's abdomen, and rubs the patient's Shenju, Qihai and Guan Yuan acupoints for 3~5 minutes, see this figure (2).

(3) The surgeon fixes the patient's ankle with his left hand, rubs the sole of the patient's foot with the palm of his right hand, and rubs the patient's Yongquan acupoint for 3~5 minutes, with light and gentle force, as shown in this figure (3).

(4) In the prone position of the patient, the surgeon uses two thumbs to operate on the patient's spine and both sides of the spine from top to bottom, and rubs the patient's heart, diaphragm, liver, gallbladder, stomach, Sanjiao and other acupoints for 5~10 minutes, see this figure (4).

2. Precautions

(1) As the saying goes, "sleep first sleeps the heart". When sleeping, you should be calm, not thinking wildly, and try to eliminate distracting thoughts.

(2) Postpartum insomnia is mostly blood deficiency, and should be combined with the above treatment with some blood-replenishing foods, such as red beans, jujubes, a small amount of animal liver, etc.

(3) Properly carry out some outdoor sports and exercises, relax the spirit, and enhance physical fitness.

(4) It is not advisable to eat too much before going to bed, "if the stomach is not in harmony, you will be restless", eat modestly, and live a regular life.
