Chapter 339: Between the Buddha's Path, Sit and Discuss the Path.
The spiritual mountain that Xie Baoshu said is actually a small world of Buddhism in the Five Elements.
Similar to the Demon Sect's Demon Cave.
Fengxiang Lingshan, thousand-year-old rhyme. It is adjacent to the west end of Qinchuan, the east ridge of Mianwu Mountain, the beautiful peak of the south in the south, and the rabbit of thousands of mountains in the north. Wild water goes to the ravine, the rocks are steep, the Fengjiashan Reservoir is on the left, and the Silk Road is behind. After thousands of years of baptism, it has created a splendid ancient Buddhist civilization.
First of all, Lingshan is not the permanent residence of the Buddha, but only a place to preach.
In the Peacock Country, Lingshan is a real place, and Master Xuanzang also went to it back then. It is also called Mt. Vulture, and it is said that it is famous because there are many vultures on the mountain, and it is also said that it is because there is a stone on the top of the mountain that resembles a vulture.
The reason why this mountain is famous is because Shakyamuni Buddha once preached many sutras in this place. The smiling of the Buddha and the Buddha is also happening here. It is said that the most widely circulated "Heart Sutra" was also written here.
Legend has it that Patriarch Shakyamuni once spoke to his disciples on Vulture Mountain. The Buddha did not speak, but just held a golden Bora flower in his hand. At that moment, all the disciples did not understand what he meant, but only the Venerable Magaka Ye could smile with his heart, because he understood the true meaning revealed in the Buddha's smile, so he could enlighten his heart with his heart and realize it at the moment.
Vedic Bodhisattva was about to take Xie Baoshu.
Unexpectedly, a Taoist came from afar. grabbed Xie Baoshu, stood beside him, and looked at Veda Bodhisattva with a smile.
Vedic Bodhisattva frowned and said, "Water Picker, you are no longer a real person now, and you still want to stop me?"
The person who came was the real person who carried water from Wudang Mountain, and looking at his appearance, he rushed over from the Two Realms Mountain. He grabbed Xie Baoshu with one hand and said, "This person is not a demon, don't deceive people too much if you are a Buddha." ”
A former true person, a Bodhisattva today, look at each other.
The smell of gunpowder is full.
Then, the two bigwigs began to sit and talk.
As we all know, Buddhism and Taoism are the two most influential religions in the Tang Dynasty, among them, the Buddhist doctrine believes that the human soul is immortal, and human death is just the reincarnation of the soul, and the right and wrong of what people did in their previous lives will form cause and effect, which will have an impact on the rebirth after reincarnation, and the lifelong must be through the cultivation of Buddhism to give up the skin in order to ascend to the Elysium.
Taoism, on the other hand, believes that the soul cannot exist independently from the body, the body is the carrier, the soul is the meaning, and if the body dies, it will be destroyed. Because of the difference in doctrine, the two religions are quite dismissive of each other's religious ideas, and there have been many Buddhist disputes in history, and even the king of one country will suppress the other religion because of his own different beliefs.
Nowadays, many people say that Buddhism and Taoism are the same as Buddhism and Taoism, there is no distinction between high and low, and there should be no sectarian views.
There is a great "overlap" between the two schools of Buddhism and Taoism in their specific practice, and the "realization of emptiness" is the overlap of the two schools, and their core cultivation and their highest achievements are the same, and it is also possible to become enlightened by cultivating Buddha, Buddha is the Tao, and the Tao is the Buddha, referring to the same ontology that is difficult to know.
This is also the reason why some of the patriarchs of the past generations preached the unity of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. But fall
When it comes to the details of specific cultivation, especially the understanding of all things, there are differences between the two, and there is even a trend of complete contradiction in many places, such as the typical Buddhism who believes that everything is empty and dependent is empty.
Taoism believes that the ontology is real, there are things into Kuncheng, Buddhism is to die, seek emptiness and liberation, and even move towards the separation of form and spirit, and walk out of the law, and the immortal Tao is noble life, longevity and long-term vision, life is one, and the camp is one. This is the basic status quo of the two companies.
It is difficult for a practitioner with insufficient levels to have a clear mind in a culture that is extremely chaotic, pessimistic and deadly, and the mind and matter are separated. Most of the people I have communicated with who practice Buddhism cannot escape chaotic thinking, such as the typical "I don't need to prove that it is emptiness", "I don't need to have Dharma attachment, don't engage in any kind of cultivation", and one-sidedly exaggerate the role of the mind, which is fundamentally to seek emptiness, tranquility and liberation, which is basically certain.
Moreover, Buddhism is now extremely chaotic, full of personality cults and superstitions. Just like the typical mantras of Buddhism, "Only the Dharma is the right path, and everything else is the outer path", "The end of the Dharma period", "There are endless sins of slandering the Buddha", etc., all belong to the cult of personality and the absolutization of the Dharma. As for what it was like in that primitive Buddhist period, it is basically unknown whether Shakya himself had it or not.
In addition, the current Buddhist thought is only reborn and liberated, and there is almost no Taoist way to enter the world, which can easily cause the waste of people's ability to enter the world.
On the contrary, Taoism has "omniscient" saints, and almost every dynasty has them, such as Jiang Ziya, Guiguzi, Zhang Liang, Fan Li, Zhuge Liang, Wang Yangming, Sima Yi, is there a Buddhism?
What is said may have an impact on Buddhist practitioners, but what is said is facts, all of them have a basis, and those who are truly responsible for the truth should attach importance to objective facts and reflect on theories from facts, rather than wishful thinking.
Of course, under the creation of karma, there are monks who have successfully cultivated, and it is also normal for Buddhism to have Da Luo Jinxian, because emptiness does account for a large part, the so-called avenue to simplicity, to simplicity of the method, well mastered, other conditions are quite good, for example, some people are born with a regular schedule and rest, for emptiness is not biased, probably can be mastered, he directly relies on meditation and cultivation of the mind to become a Taoist. But there are a few, and most of them can't escape this trap of the idea of emptiness.
The two religions have compatible aspects, but the difference is basic, and the basic difference is that Taoism advocates taking life as the truth, pursuing longevity and health preservation, and becoming an immortal in the flesh. Taoism believes that human life is composed of vitality, and the body is the dwelling of the spirit, and in order to live forever, it is necessary to cultivate both form and spirit, that is, there is the work of "internal cultivation" and "external cultivation".
In contrast to Taoism, Buddhism advocates "non-existence" and believes that reality is a sea of suffering for everything. People are powerless against reality, so they can only endure it. To endure, one must give up all kinds of desires, pin one's hopes on the next life, and pursue the "sea of suffering" beyond the cycle of birth and death and enter Nirvana.
It can be seen that Taoism advocates the pursuit of real life, while Buddhism advocates abandoning the pursuit of real materials and focusing on spirituality
and the yearning for the afterlife.
In general, the problem that religion wants to solve is the ultimate problem of a person's spiritual care, which is actually the question of how to deal with life and death. Death is the greatest fear for man, and religion has to give a way to deal with it.
The main difference between Buddhism and Taoism is the attitude towards life and death. It can be said that the two are very different.
According to Buddhism, life is suffering. Life is suffering, death is suffering. And this kind of suffering has no end, it is in a cycle of life and death that goes on and on, and there is no end. Only by attaining nirvana can we get out of the cycle of birth and death.
So how do we achieve nirvana? Buddha, enlightenment. In the final analysis, it is the realization that life is suffering. Buddhism says that when you truly realize that life is suffering, you become "enlightened." This is the core idea of Buddhism.
Taoism has a positive, positive attitude towards life in general. This is the biggest difference between Taoism and Buddhism and even other religions.
There is a saying in the secret of Taoist practice, "Obey the adult, reverse the immortal, all in the yin and yang upside down", which is the Taoist method of how to achieve immortality.
He is also a supreme disseminator of the Great Dao, how can Shakyamuni Buddha's 84,000 methods tailored for sentient beings create countless foolish people with such meticulous care, and Lao Tzu's cautious attitude towards the "Tao" can still produce all kinds of strange Taoists?
The Buddha was an enlightened being, an enlightened being, a Supreme Guru, and he showed the path of learning, enlightenment, attainment, and practice through suffering, because he was compassionate and aware of the suffering of all sentient beings, and he had compassion for all suffering sentient beings. In this world, he has spoken the Dharma for 49 years, and the Dharma has been transmitted 84,000, and the so-called compassion and wisdom are infinite. However, although his Buddha power is boundless, his divine powers, hands and eyes are boundless, and he is also invincible to the karma of sentient beings.
There is a wise man who once described the temple and dojo of Buddhism in this way, first believers come from all directions, the incense is vigorous, men and women, old and young, the old and the young, the noble and the low, it can be said that the door is like a city, it is magnificent, slowly the door can be full of birds, the monks have more porridge and less, and then only those old men and old ladies are left to insist on incense. The five blessings are coming, the children and grandchildren are safe, and they bless themselves with health and longevity, and they can stay with their children and grandchildren, and be safe and happy.
Then, while pouring incense, they spit bitter water on each other, complaining that their daughter-in-law is disrespectful and their son-in-law is useless...... This is the true portrayal of most temples and dojos, most of them are superstitious people, and few are diligent practitioners. Is this the uselessness of "Buddhism" or the uselessness of the Dharma teachers, or is it the uselessness of sentient beings after all?
Therefore, when we look at Buddhism, there are many superstitious people and few practitioners, but in the practice of blind practice, foolishness, ignorance of the Buddha's principles and righteousness, or lack of knowledge, and no good fortune and lack of the quality of those who are the Taoists, greedy and greedy for the Dharma, people with evil knowledge and wrong views, distort the Buddha's path, defile the Three Jewels, and fall into hell.
Therefore, whether or not to teach the Dharma, we must look at its roots, even if it is convenient, if we are afraid of enduring hardships, and the habit of karma is incredibly heavy, we still do it out of humanity, let him be a good person, and we must not hope that he will leave the Three Realms, otherwise even the Dharma teacher who teaches the Dharma will want to cry without tears in the future
Repentance hurts others and makes oneself miserable.
This has to learn from the wisdom of the Oriental Tai Chi, listen to the strength, choose the right trade-off, do not lose the top, force to turn the force, strength to turn the strength, give up my self from the people, the introduction of failure, the so-called big is invisible, the wise are foolish.
In fact, how could the Buddha not be a master of Tai Chi when he was alive? You see, how can the disciples around him have a bad weapon? Although the Buddha has the power to fulfill the wishes of all sentient beings, the place where he starts is indeed real, and those who have fate, those who have roots, and those who believe in it.
Therefore, it is very important for the Dharma teacher to personally confirm the foundation, but also to have the ability to be a teacher and the root nature of good contemplation, and to have the ability to teach according to the aptitude of all methods!
People who don't understand, their wisdom has not yet been practiced, but they are greedy for merit, blindly doing blind to promote the growth of seedlings, which is still a seedling with roots, but you are called this rough and ignorant pull, the whole plant is dead, and the root of the life of the seedling is completely destroyed.
Therefore, throughout Buddhism, good knowledge is like a sky full of stars, and there are very few people who really teach, and vice versa, those who learn and teach are like a sky full of stars, but true and good knowledge is rare. Therefore, Buddhism has created countless people who are not able to understand it, and those who are sick and sick cannot live in the world, and leaving the world is also a dead end. It's sad!
The sorrow of Buddhism was not the fault of Shakyamuni Buddha, the leader of the sect, he also predicted it 2,000 years ago, and who can stop the cycle of cause and effect in the current world? Therefore, is the outer way of the "natural way" of the various outer ways revealed in the "Lengyan Sutra" the same thing as the "Taoist way of nature" understood by Buddhists in the East?
The so-called Tao Law is natural, and it has to go through the enlightenment process of "human law and earth, earth law and heaven, and heaven law and Tao", which are all practical efforts. The Tao is naturally the unspeakable, unspeakable, and infinite wonder of the Dao, although the wonder is infinite, but it must be attributed to emptiness, and there is nothing to be attributed to.
Although the four are empty and the void is empty, they do not cling to the emptiness, and seeing the color in the air, seeing the color is also empty, seeing the emptiness in the color, and seeing the emptiness is also the color, which is the Tao. The way of nature cannot be said to be actionable, cause and effect is the way of nature, reincarnation is the way of nature, and even the three paths and six paths, and the four beings and nine beings are all natural ways.
Buddhism is indisputable, but the multiplicity of sects and the different scriptures relied on by each ancestor made the sects and believers fall into each other's ways. This is true internally and even more so externally, making one's Three Jewels an absolute truth, and those who have nothing to do with the Buddha are all outsiders and look down on them.
The Taoist thought of the East is based on Lao Tzu as the great integration, and the classics are viewed, and the five thousand words summarize the avenue, which is all-encompassing. Every word reveals infinite wisdom, Lao Tzu's five thousand words, there is no end to reading the life and life, and there is no end to the life and life of cultivation, what is it?
Because the avenue is endless, but looking at its words and words, talking about theories and Taoism, they are all pointed, never thorough, hidden mysteries, and there is no trace of internal and external, difficult, size, high and low, deep and difficult. The geese passed silently, did Lao Tzu do it intentionally? Not necessarily, and unintentionally? Not necessarily. The function is inactive, but it is boundless
It's wonderful. Between the lines, there is a hidden pondering, the ancients had the wisdom of heaven that cannot be revealed, why?
Because when the law should not be, when the law should not be the law, the law should not be the opportunity, the law should not be human, and the law should not be fate......
The two bigwigs argued, Xie Baoshu didn't understand at all on the side, so he could only carry a knife and come out if he wanted to give Jing Ning.
At this time, in the dragon pool of the Dragon Temple, there was a real dragon figure, jumping out of it, and roaring at Veda Bodhisattva. It turned out that while they were arguing, Jing Ning ran out by himself.
She was very angry, the same as Xie Baoshu.
It's not over.
