Chapter 15: The Ruthless Brother
Section I
In the hospital room, Harry was lying alone in bed. In the middle of the night, Harry suddenly woke up, and it was pitch black all around. He cried out in pain: now there seemed to be countless large splinters in his arm. At first, he thought it was his arm that woke him up, and then, to his horror, he realized to the horror that someone was wiping his forehead with a sponge in the dark.
"Go away!" He exclaimed, and then, he recognized, "Dobby!"
The house-elf stared at Harry in the darkness with two large, tennis ball-like eyes. A teardrop rolled down his long, pointed nose.
"Harry Potter is back in school," he whispered sadly, "Dobby reminded Harry Potter several times. Ah, sir, why don't you heed Dobby's warning? Harry Potter didn't catch the train, so why not go home?"
Harry propped himself up from the pillow and pushed Dobby's sponge away.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, "How do you know I didn't catch the train?" Dobby's lips trembled, and Harry became suspicious.
"You did it!" Harry said slowly, "You sealed the wall and didn't let us pass!"
"Exactly, sir." Dobby said, nodding desperately, flapping his big ears, "Dobby hid next to him, waited for Harry Potter, and then sealed the passage, and afterwards Dobby had to use an iron to burn his own hands-" He showed Harry his ten long fingers with bandages, "-But Dobby didn't care, sir, Dobby thought Harry Potter was safe now, Dobby never dreamed that Harry Potter would actually go the other way to school!"
He swayed back and forth, his ugly head swinging.
"Dobby was so shocked to hear that Harry Potter had returned to Hogwarts and burned his master's dinner! What a whipping, I haven't experienced it before, sir......"
"You almost got Ron and me fired, and made my brother worry for a day." Harry said angrily, "You'd better get out of the way while my bones aren't growing, Dobby, or I'll strangle you." β
Dobby froze when he heard Harry talk about Sauron, then smiled faintly. "Dobby is used to the threat of death. Dobby is at home five times a day. He blew his nose from the corner of the dirty pillowcase he was wearing, looking pitiful.
"Why are you wearing that, Dobby?" Harry asked curiously.
"This, sir?" Dobby said, tugging at his pillowcase, "This symbolizes the slavery status of the house-elves.
Mr. Dobby can only be set free when Dobby's master gives him clothes to wear. The house was very careful to enter, and he didn't even give Dobby a pair of socks, sir, because then Dobby would be free and leave their house forever. β
Dobby wiped his big bulging eyes and suddenly said, "Harry Potter must come home!" Dobby thought his Bludger would be able toβ"
"Your Bludger?" Harry asked, anger rising again, "What do you mean by that, your Bludger?" You let that Bludger kill me?"
"Not to kill you, sir, definitely not to kill you!" Dobby says in horror, "Dobby wants to ......"
Before Dobby could finish his sentence, under Harry's terrified gaze, the elf seemed to be strangled by an invisible hand, carried into the air, looked painful, and then was slammed to the ground.
Through the glimmer of light through the window, Harry saw a black mist emerge in the air, then condense into a human being. Harry looked at the strange man in horror and wanted to get his wand-
"Don't be afraid, Harry, it's me."
Harry breathed a sigh of relief, he could hear Sauron's voice, and Dobby looked at Sauron with terrified fear.
"Why are you here...... What are you doing? Harry was about to ask why Sauron had come out so late, but was surprised to see Sauron pull out his wand and face Dobby, who was sitting on the ground shivering.
Sauron didn't answer Harry, and with a flick of his wand, the elf was hanging upside down in the air. Sauron stared at the elf, "It was because of you that my brother was abused by the Dursleys; Because of you, my brother was almost expelled from school; Because of you, my brother was almost killed by Bludger. Sauron's voice grew colder, so Harry, who was trying to persuade him, didn't dare to speak up.
"I never wanted to hurt Harry Potter, I just wanted him to get hurt and get back home...... Oops"
Sauron waved his wand, and the elf was thrown out and smashed against the opposite wall. Sauron walked up to it and said in a dangerous tone, "Boring lies! Looks like mine has impressed you a bit. β
"No, Dobby didn't lie to you, for Dobby, Harry Potter was like a beacon in the dark. Something terrible is going to happen to Hogwarts, Harry Potter is in danger, because history is about to repeat itself, and the Chamber of Secrets has been opened at one point-"
Dobby froze, terrified, and Sauron frowned tightly, and then, with his wand, he suspended the elf in the air, stared at its big terrified eyes, and said coldly, "How did you know that the secret room was opened, and who your master is?" β
"Dobby can't say, sir, Dobby can't say, Dobby definitely can't say!" The elf screamed. "Come home, Harry Potter, come home"
Sauron snorted. "Silent," Sauron said. The elf is like a rooster with its neck choked, unable to make a sound at all, and can only open its mouth in vain.
"Looks like you need a little reminder." Sauron said, pointing his wand at the elf and whispering, "Drill the heart and cut the bones." β
Dobby's face was filled with pain and horror, and he twitched and struggled in vain in the air. Harry hadn't heard Sauron chanting the incantation, but he could vaguely see the elf's pained face, and he instinctively realized that Sauron seemed to be doing something terrible to the elf.
"Sauron, put it down first." Harry whispered.
Sauron glanced back at Harry and lowered his wand, and the elf fell to the ground, curled up in a ball, and sobbed softly.
"Now, sue me, who is your master?" Sauron's voice was cold.
Dobby slumped on the ground, looked up at Sauron in fear, and then looked at Harry pitifully, tears streaming from those big eyes. This made Harry's heart soften.
"That, Sauron." Harry said cautiously, "Let him go, don't be in such a hurry......"
Harry stopped before he could finish speaking, and Sauron looked to the door, where footsteps could be heard in the hallway outside. Taking advantage of Sauron's stunned efforts, the elf disappeared with a pop. Angry at his carelessness, Sauron snorted, and it turned into a black mist that drifted into the air, leaving Harry in his hospital bed.
The men who came in from the outside were Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall, and the two of them were carrying a student, a petrified Creevey. Sauron didn't stay in the ward, he left through the door, and when he was beside them, Dumbledore felt him faintly, and glanced at the room with a frown.
"What's wrong, Albus?" Professor McGonagall asked.
Dumbledore shook his head slowly, "Nothing. He whispered, "Go and call Madam Pomfrey." β
Sauron went out the door, straight in the direction of the Slytherin common room, and only then did he reincarnate in the corner until he was in front of the portrait.
The next morning, Harry woke up to find that his arm had grown new bones, but they were stiff. Thinking back to last night's QiΔ, Harry was eager to see how Colin was doing, but there was a curtain around his hospital bed so he couldn't see what was going on inside. Madam Pomfrey came in and examined him, then let him go.
Harry had wanted to find Sauron, but he didn't know where he was, so he returned to the Gryffindor Tower, to his disappointment, Hermione and Ron weren't there, and after a long turn, Harry finally found them in the weeping Myrtle's bathroom, where they were making a polyjuice potion in a small private room.
"Come on in." Hermione pulled him into the private room, "How's your arm?"
"Very good." Harry said, squeezing into the small room. There was a crucible on the toilet bowl, and Harry heard a crackling sound coming from underneath the toilet bowl and knew they had a fire underneath. Using magic to conjure a carryable, waterproof fire was Hermione's forte.
"We were going to see you, but we decided to boil up the polyjuice decoction first." Ron said that Harry struggled to relock the small room.
"We think it's safest to hide here." Harry was about to talk to them about Colin when Hermione interrupted him. "We already know that this morning we heard Professor McGonagall tell SΓΉ Flitwick. That's why we decided to first-"
"We'd better get Malfoy to confess as soon as possible." Ron said angrily, "Do you know what I think? He'd been sullen since Quidditch, and he was angry with Colin. β
"Maybe we can talk to Sauron." Harry said uncertainly, "Let Sauron warn Malfoy, you know, Malfoy is afraid of Sauron. β
"It's useless." Hermione said, "We don't have proof. Malfoy wouldn't admit that a student had been attacked, and if he was found out, the mastermind would definitely be expelled, and maybe the Ministry of Magic would be tried. β
"One more thing," Harry said as he watched Hermione tear up bunches of amphorae and throw them into the potion, "Dobby came to see me in the middle of the night, and then Sauron came, well, no, I guess he should have arrived before Dobby." β
Ron and Hermione looked up in surprise. Harry told them everything Dobby had said in the hospital room last night, but didn't mention Sauron's rough treatment of Dobby. Ron and Hermione were dumbfounded.
"The Chamber of Secrets has ever been opened before?" Hermione said. "Now it's clear," Ron said in a smug tone, "Lucius Malfoy must have opened the Chamber when he was a student here, and now he's teaching dear little Draco to do so." This is obvious. Still, I wish Dobby had told you what monsters were in there. I really don't understand, it's sneaking around the school, why no one finds out?"
"Maybe it can make itself invisible," Hermione said, poking some leeches into the bottom of the pot, "or it can disguise itself - into a piece of armor or something. I've read stories of color-changing ghosts in books......"
"You've read too much." Ron said, pouring some dead lacewings on top of the leeches. He crumpled the empty pocket of the lacewings and turned his face to look at Harry. "It's Sauron, how did he get to you without being discovered, does he also have an invisibility cloak?"
"Maybe it's the Illusion Spell." Hermione said, "I guess Sauron must have used some spell to make himself invisible, right, Harry. β
Harry nodded hesitantly, although he didn't know how to use the Transfiguration Charm, he knew that the strange way Sauron turned into black mist had absolutely nothing to do with the Disillusionment Charm. Thinking about the coldness with which Sauron had treated Dobby last night, Harry felt a little uncomfortable.
"Are you alright, man?" Ron asked, seeing that Harry's face wasn't so good.
"It's nothing, it's just that the arm is a little awkward." Harry had lied, he didn't want Ron and Hermione to know what Sauron had done last night.
