4.1 Preparation of weapons against zombies
Pen? Interesting? Pavilion wWw. biquge。 infoExcerpt from "The Zombie Survival Handbook".
Shaolin Shovel*
This weapon can take on special situations like anti-ghoul combat. The design is quite rare: a six-foot-long hand-held stick with an axe-shaped blade facing outwards at one end and a crescent-shaped blade with the blade facing outwards at the other. Its design dates back to the Shang Dynasty of China (1766-1122B. C.E.) A bronze agricultural tool. When Buddhism came to China, it was used by Shaolin monks as a tool that used both weapons and tools. On several occasions, it has been used as a super-effective weapon against the living dead. The blades at both ends can be used for decapitation with neat length, and the length ensures the safety of the user. However, this length also makes it unsuitable for indoor combat, so it is important to avoid such occasions as much as possible. And in the open field, there is nothing that provides the same lethality as a Japanese knife and can guarantee the same safety as a Shaolin shovel.
There are still many hand-held weapons in the world, and space prevents the author from listing them all to explore. If you think an instrument can be used as a weapon, ask yourself the following questions:
1. Can it destroy the head with a single blow?
2. If it can't, can it be decapitated with one hit?
3. Is it good to hold?
4. Is it lightweight?
5. Is it durable?
Questions 3, 4, and 5 depend on where you are.
Questions 1 and 2 are the most important part!
4. Power weapons
The common fantasy renders the chainsaw a terrifying, powerful tool of killing. Its sharp, high-speed serrations can easily slice through flesh and bone, rendering the power and skill necessary to wield a manual weapon worthless. Its roar can also provide psychological solace to those who can't bear the slightest bit of more fear. In how many horror movies have you seen this industrial killing machine sowing destruction on anything that dares to stand in its way? But in fact, power-driven devices such as chainsaws can only be placed at the bottom of the list of zombie killing weapons. First of all, their fuel supply is limited. Once depleted, they won't provide more protection than a lump of lead in your hand. Carrying extra spare fuel and batteries led to another problem: weight. The average weight of a chainsaw is 10 pounds, compared to a 2-pound Malay machete. Why add such a burden of exhaustion? Safety considerations must also be considered. A glide to, flying sawtooth slices through your own skull with as much effort as the previous one sliced through enemies. Another problem common to all machines is noise. A chainsaw's unique roar, even if it only lasts a few seconds, is enough to broadcast to all the zombies that can be heard, "It's served!"
Slingshots and bows and arrows
There is a common belief that non-gunpowder-propelled ballistic weapons, such as bows and slingshots, are a complete waste of energy and resources. In most cases, this is true. However, when used properly, these weapons allow you to carry out near-utter silence from a distance. What would you do if you were trying to escape a completely submerged area, you went around a corner, and then found a ghoul blocking your way? Too far away for hand-held weapons. Its roar may reveal your position before you get close. The sound of a firearm detonation will only lead to a bigger alarm. What should you do? In this case, there is no doubt that silent weapons are your only option.
1. Catapults
This weapon, famous for its biblical stories [only in Christian nations], has become part of our prehistoric heritage. The user places a smooth boulder in the center of a wide, thin elastic belt, grasps both ends of the band with one hand, and swings the boulder several times in a circular motion, then releases one end of the band so that the stone shoots at its target. Theoretically, you can give a zombie within 30 steps of a headshot in silence. However, even after months of training, the best hit rate is only 1 in 10. And for the inexperienced, you might as well throw a stone directly.
2. Slingshot
A direct descendant of the catapult, the modern slingshot is at least 10 times more accurate than its ancestor, the catapult. But what it lacks is impact. The small projectiles fired by modern slingshots do not have enough power to penetrate the heads of zombies, even at close distances. Using this weapon will only direct the zombies' attention to you at best.
3. Blow arrows
Since the toxin has no effect on the dead, this weapon is worthless.
4. Shuriken
This small, multi-pointed weapon was used to pierce the heads of enemies during the Japanese shogunate period. Outwardly they resemble steel, two-dimensional replicas of the star pattern, which earns them their nickname, "Throwing Stars." In the hands of experts, they can easily take out zombies. But like many of the weapons we mentioned, using shuriken requires specialized skills. Unless you are one of the few top masters of the craft (only a handful of experts have the right to accept this title), never try this exotic trick. For shuriken, a few exercises are enough to hit human-sized objects, but for human-sized ones it takes at least a few months. And only the most specialized experts can hope to achieve an effective zombie kill. It is better to spend the time and energy on practice than on the rest of the conventional weapons. Remember, you have a lot of skills to learn, don't spend all your time in the world on them. Don't spend those precious hours on this third-rate weapon.
5. Throwing knives
Similar to shuriken, this type of short-range weapon requires very little practice and is enough for you to hit a human-sized object, but a human-sized one will take at least a few months.
6. Longbow or compound bow
Piercing the head of a zombie with a bow and arrow is an extremely difficult target for a raw hand. Even with modern compound bows and sights, only experienced shooters can achieve effective shooting. The only effective way to use this weapon is a longitudinal rocket. For a quiet fire over long distances, there is nothing more suitable than a burning bow and arrow. The key to this approach is to treat zombies as fuel for individual actions. The target zombie will not be conscious enough to pull out the arrows from its body, and may cause the flames to spread to other zombies before extinguishing. (See "Flame" for a reference on how to use it appropriate.)
7. Crossbow
Modern crossbows are powerful and accurate enough to nail a "crossbow arrow" (crossbow arrow) into the head of a zombie a quarter of a mile away. It's no surprise that it's considered the "perfect silent killer." Marksmanship is important but no more demanding than shooting a rifle. It takes power and time to reload, but it doesn't take . The crossbow is a sniper weapon, not a swarm weapon. It can only be used against a single zombie. What's more, before you have a chance to reload, you'll be on the zombies' plate. As for crossbow arrows, both triangular arrows and warhead-type arrows are combined. For higher accuracy, a telescopic sight can be considered. Unfortunately, the size and weight of any applicable crossbow will make it a primary weapon. Therefore, it should only be used when the situation allows, such as team action, home defense, or unobtrusive reloading is feasible.
8. Hand crossbow
The small one-handed crossbow can be used as a supplement to your primary weapon. Bringing one with you means that a compact silent weapon can come in handy as soon as you need it. Compared to large crossbows, hand crossbows are inferior in accuracy, power, and range. As a result, it must be closer to the target when used. This increases not only the danger, but also the risk of detection, but this is not a reason to dismiss silent weapons. Save and use it carefully.
firearm
Of all the weapons discussed in this book, nothing is more important than the most important firearm in your hands. Keep it clean, keep it well-oiled, keep it loaded, make sure it's within reach. With a cool head, a sturdy gun belt, and plenty of ammo, a human is far more powerful than a horde of zombies.
Choosing a firearm is arguably an exact science, and almost every variable needs to be considered. What is your number one need: defend, attack, or escape? What level of outbreak are you facing? If any, how many people are on your team? What is the natural environment of your battlefield? Different firearms have different functions. Basically nothing can be called omnipotent. Choosing the perfect tool means abandoning all the rules of war that have been so effective against our kind. Unfortunately, we know too well how to fight each other. As for killing zombies -- that's another story.
1. Heavy machine gun
Since the First World War, this invention has revolutionized human conflict. Its mechanics allow you to launch a torrent of metal in a matter of seconds. This tactic may be invaluable on the battlefield of humanity, but it is meaningless to use against the living dead. Remember, what you need is a headshot: a bullet that hits the target. Since the machine gun is designed to rain down barrage, it can take hundreds, if not thousands, of rounds, to make it possible. Even if it could be aimed with a machine gun like a rifle, (as the American special forces did) such an effort would not be worth the cost. If you can achieve results with a rifle alone, why do you have to use a machine gun's 5 short bursts? In 1970, students at one school were enthusiastic about the so-called "scythe theory": if a machine gun was set up at the height of a human head to attack a group of zombies, a single burst of fire could kill them all. The key mistake of this assumption is that it assumes the zombies to be at the same level - as if they were at the same level when they were humans. Even if some are wiped out, there will still be those who "survive" to your location. But isn't the destructive power of a machine gun enough for a full-fledged target? Doesn't the machine gun have enough destructive power to tear a human body in half, so that a headshot is no longer necessary? Yes and no. U.S. Army Squad Support Automatic Weapon (SAW) The standard 5.56mm bullet used is enough to break a human spine, cut off limbs, or if possible, tear the zombie in two.But even then, a headshot is not unnecessary. On the one hand, the probability of dismembering a zombie with a bullet is very small, and even if it is achieved, too much ammunition will be used.On the other hand, unless the brain is destroyed, the crippled zombie will still be alive, yes, even if it can't move, it is still alive. Why leave yourself a whole bunch of churning, threatening surviving wreckage to clean up afterwards?
2. Submachine guns
The problem with this weapon is very similar to that of heavy machine guns: the ratio of ammunition to cost is really disproportionate. However, when fighting in narrow areas, submachine guns also have their value at all. Its smaller size makes it easier to store than a rifle, while its versatile elasticity allows it to be more helpful than a pistol. Always make sure you set it to single-shot mode. As we have discussed, fully automatic fire is a pure waste of ammunition. At the same time, it is guaranteed to adopt a shoulder-to-shoulder shooting position. The hip stance won't do any good other than make noise and go off target. One of the disadvantages of submachine guns is the low accuracy at long distances. Since submachine guns are fired as close-quarters combat weapons, you have to get closer to zombies to develop their firepower than rifles and assault rifles. This would not have been a problem, but don't forget that, like all automatic weapons, submachine guns have the problem of jamming in use. At short distances, this can put you in unnecessary danger. However, this is also the only major drawback that allows you not to use the submachine gun as your primary weapon.
3. Assault rifles
This weapon is designed to sit somewhere between a submachine gun and a rifle, satisfying both range and rapid-fire vitality. Doesn't that make it a great weapon against the undead? Not necessarily. Although range and accuracy are needed, rapid-fire capabilities, for us, are not needed. Although an assault rifle, like a submachine gun, can be set to semi-auto mode, the temptation to switch to fully automatic mode is still there, just like submachine guns. When you're fighting for your own survival, it's all too easy to switch to "rock'n'roll," mode on the spur of the moment, it's not only a waste of ammo, but also pointless. If you choose an assault rifle as your weapon, be aware of the following questions that apply to all firearms: What is its effective range? What about the accuracy? Is there enough matching ammo? Is it easy to clean and maintain?
To answer some of these questions, the following two weapons are the most appropriate examples.
The U.S. M16Al is considered by some to be the worst assault rifle ever invented. Its complex mechanical structure is not only difficult to clean, but also troubleshooting. In order for the standard to have the right range, it is necessary to adjust the process beforehand, using a tool similar to a nail or a ballpoint pen. What if you lose a few zombies when they're staggering in, or don't have the tools at hand? In the process of troubleshooting the delicate plastic structure of the M16A1, it was necessary to jam the spring with a bayonet, and this process was likely to cut a hole in the body of the gun without carelessness. This is undoubtedly a fatal drawback. Once your rifle jams against several zombies, you can't even use a bayonet as a last resort in hand-to-hand combat. In 1960, the M16 (prototype AR-15) was designed for the needs of the defense of the air base. For the typical complex reasons of politics involving industry (you buy my weapons, you get my votes and political contributions), it was eventually adopted as the primary weapon of the U.S. Army infantry. The early years of the Vietnam War had so little success that the communist guerrillas refused to even capture them from the corpses of American soldiers. The updated M16A2, despite a number of improvements, is still considered a second-rate weapon here. If you have to choose, it is recommended that you follow the example of the Viet Cong and completely ignore the M16.
Looking at the opposite product, the AK-47 of the former Soviet Union is regarded as the most successful assault rifle ever produced. Despite being heavier than the M16 (10.58 pounds vs. 7 pounds) and having more recoil, this weapon is still known for its rugged lethality and rugged construction. Its wide firing mechanism avoids jamming caused by sand and dirt. In hand-to-hand combat, you can either use the bayonet attached to the weapon to pierce the eye socket of a zombie, or use its hard plastinated wooden butt to smash the head of the living dead. If imitation is the sincerest compliment, it is clear that several countries have expressed their praise for the AK series in this way (China Type 56), and there are also improved models (Israel Galil).
4. Bolt-action / pump-action rifles
A product derived from a design of the mid-nineteenth century, this type of weapon is often considered an outdated design. Why take an old-fashioned shotgun when you can keep it? This arrogance is groundless and is based on technical chauvinism rather than practical experience. A well-crafted, skillfully used bolt-action or pump-action rifle can help in the fight against the living dead in no less way than the most advanced military products.
The characteristics of the rifle's single-shot shot force the shooter to ensure aiming, thereby increasing the probability of a sure hit. This feature also precludes the possibility of a "rock'n'rolling" state for a while. At the same time, regardless of the user's intentions, it does save ammo. The third reason is that it is easiest to keep a rifle and less likely to risk breaking the law. Shotguns are prepared for civilian stores. Manufacturers know that this type of buyer is the most complex and the purchase will be simpler. The fourth and final reason is that ammunition is basically abundant. Given that there are far more civilian gun shops than armories in the United States (unlike anywhere else in the world), getting bullets for a shotgun is far easier than finding an assault rifle or submachine gun. This is crucial in many of the situations envisaged in this manual.
Also, when choosing a bolt-action/pump-action rifle, if possible, look for an old-fashioned, military-style one. This does not mean that civilian models are inferior, but because all military models are designed with hand-to-hand combat in mind. Make sure you learn how to use the rifle deliberately. Simply having fun will destroy any weapon, military or civilian. The contents of the manual can still be used as a blunt weapon for using rifles. Even old war movies have demonstrated how to use such weapons to kill without firing a single shot.
Typical examples of bolt-action rifles include the American Springfield, the British Lee Enfield, and the German Mauser Kar98k.
5. Semi-automatic rifles
Since its debut, this weapon has demonstrated its value as a Super Zombie Slayer. Although there may be a waste of ammo (one ammo is consumed for each trigger pull), a certain amount of training is also a must. But it can be a blessing in the face of multiple targets. In one recorded example, a trapped woman knocked over 15 attacking zombies in 12 seconds! (See "1947A. D., Jarvie, British Columbia".) This instance undoubtedly demonstrates the potential of a semi-automatic rifle. In close-quarters combat and escape, semi-automatic carbines provide the same service as larger models. Despite halving the effective range, carbines are comparatively lighter and easier to carry, using smaller ammunition. Depending on the situation, both types will work well for you.
When it comes to choosing a semi-automatic weapon, the M1 Garand or M1 carbine of the Second World War, has an absolute advantage over its peers. It may sound surprising, but these old military weapons have endured and survived the largest conflict in history. Not only were they well suited to this task, but the Garand was the weapon of choice for the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and its carbine continued to serve even in the early days of the Vietnam War. Another advantage of the M1 Garand is its value as a hand-to-hand weapon (during World War II, bayonet battles were still considered life-and-death combat). Some Garands are still sold in stores with applicable ammo. The H41 carbine surprisingly continues to be produced. Its lower weight and segmented barrel make it suitable for indoor combat and long walks.Rest, more modern options include the Luger Mini-30, Luger Mini-14, and the Chinese Type 56 (a replica of the Soviet SKS carbine, not to be confused with the assault rifle of the same name). If you can be trained to use it, you won't find a better option than a semi-automatic rifle.
6.******
This weapon is unbelievably strong against human enemies at close range. It doesn't work against the living dead. A good No. 12 ****** can effectively blast the entire head of a zombie. However, the farther away you are, the more dispersed the shotgun will be, and the less likely it will be to penetrate the skull. Hunting single-headed bullets have the same effect as rifles, albeit with a longer range (the barrel must be long enough), but when it comes to it, why not just use a rifle? The unique effectiveness of a shotgun is the stopping effect. Shotguns scatter like a flying wall, while rifle bullets can pierce or deflect cleanly. If you're cornered into a dead end, or need time to get out of the way while escaping, an effective shotshot can turn several zombies on all fours. The significant disadvantage of the ****** gun is that the 12-gauge shotgun is too large to carry and takes up space in the backpack where you can store extra supplies. This must be taken into account when deciding to go on a long walk.
7. Pistols
The Americans have a special relationship with pistols . They appear in almost every film, every TV series, every popular novel, every comic. Our heroes have always been inseparable from them, from the western enforcers of yesteryear to the urban forests of today. The gangsters were fascinated by them; Liberals and conservatives argue over it [gun ban---].Parents try to keep their children away from them, and manufacturers amass untold fortunes with them. I'm afraid that apart from the car, nothing represents the United States better than a pistol . But how effective is this cultural icon against a rising tide of flesh and blood eaters? In fact, it's not very effective.
Unlike our fictional heroes, it is almost a dream for an average person to hit a target as small and moving as a zombie's head with a pistol. Put the obvious pressure of fighting zombies and the idea of getting 100 shots in one step and the idea of negotiating with the attackers. Studies have shown that 73% of all senseless ballistic injuries and non-fatal gunshots to zombies are caused by pistols. A laser sight increases the probability of exact aiming, but does nothing to curb the tremor of the wrist.
Where pistols come in handy is in extreme conditions. If you get caught by a zombie, a pistol is enough to save your life. Holding the muzzle of the gun to the zombie's temple and pulling the trigger is certainly not technical, but it can certainly result in a successful kill. The fact that the pistol is light, small and easy to carry makes it the most attractive secondary weapon in any situation. If your primary weapon is a carbine, this also gives you the possibility to share ammo and be lightly armed. For these reasons, it is important to carry a pistol with you when fighting ghouls, but only as an emergency. Never forget that some of the dismembered, half-eaten corpses were found with this life-saving weapon still clutched in their cold and stiff hands.
8..22 caliber rim-firing weapons
These weapons (rifles or pistols) fire bullets of a few millimeters in caliber and less than an inch in length. Usually they are used for practice, competition, or small-scale hunting games. And in an attack by the dead, The small .22 rim fire bullet proudly takes the place of its heavier relative. The small size of this bullet allows you to carry more than 3 times the number of regular bullets. It also makes the weapon itself relatively lighter, which is a godsend when you need to traverse a vast zombie-infested area. This bullet is relatively easier to process and makes them well stocked throughout the country. No store that sells all kinds of ammunition will not have it.22 Edge fire bullets are also in stock. There are two drawbacks, one is that when you decide to use .22 bullets, this ammunition hardly stops working. There have been people(including former President Ronald Reagan) was hit by a .22 bullet without realizing it.And a ghoul, even if it was hit in the chest, would not slow down in the slightest due to the weak force of the small projectile, and another disadvantage was its lack of strength to penetrate the skull at long range. The fact that with a .22 weapon, you may have to get a little closer to ensure an effective kill, leads to a decrease in the probability of a successful kill. For the same reason, the lack of power of a .22 bullet can also be considered a problem Because it didn't have enough force to penetrate the back of the zombie's head, the .22's bullet was found to be able to burrow into the skull, causing as much damage as the .45 bullet.
9. Attachments
A silencer, if you can get your hands on it, can be a life-and-death firearms partner. Their ability to attenuate the sound of gunfire eliminates the need for non-gunpowder propelled ballistic weapons such as bows, slingshots, or other silent non-gunpowder propelled ballistic weapons (especially during long journeys).
A telescopic sight can greatly enhance the aiming ability, especially in long-range sniper operations. A laser sight may be your best partner on the surface. However, where is it so easy to move a small red dot to a zombie's forehead? An even worse disadvantage is the consumption of the battery. Night vision goggles have the same drawbacks. Even though they give you the ability to accurately snipe zombies from a long distance in the dark, they can't do anything once the power runs out. Ordinary glass-metal sights are a better choice. It may not seem cool enough and doesn't seem to have the help of electronics, but these simple tools will definitely not let you down.
Range vs. accuracy
Studies have shown that to inflict damage in combat, the closer a shooter is to a zombie, the more scattered his shot becomes. So when practicing your firearms. First, set the maximum range to determine the accuracy. Then practice shooting at anti-moving targets in an ideal environment (the key is to move randomly) and confirm your ultimate range. Take it in half. This will be your effective kill range in actual combat. Make sure the zombies can't get closer to a place smaller than that. Otherwise your shooting accuracy will decrease. When fighting against the plural living dead. Switch targets after making sure the knockdown is close to the fastest. Even if you're experienced, don't take these suggestions for granted. Highly accomplished police officers, seasoned battlefield veterans, and even the most ruthless of cold-blooded killers can end up being munched on meat because they believe in their so-called "guts" rather than their training.
explosive
Question: What could be better than throwing a grenade into a horde of zombies? Answer: Pretty much anything. Anti-personnel bombs mainly rely on fragments to cause damage, and metal fragments tear through organs necessary for life. This will not affect the zombies, and the probability of the fragments accurately burrowing into the skull is basically negligible. Grenades, bombs, and other explosives are ineffective weapons against zombies, but that doesn't mean they're worthless. After all, if you want to blow open a sealed door, create a barricade in an instant, or blow up a horde of zombies into heavenly maidens, there will be no more effective means than a large barrel of gunpowder.
flame
The living dead have no fear of fire. The waves rising in front of a ghoul don't slow or slow him down in the slightest. A lit zombie will not be aware or react to the fact that it has been caught in a tongue of fire. Not knowing that flames do not have the slightest deterrent effect on zombies, there are already too many poor people who have fallen into tragedy! As a weapon, the flame remains humanity's most loyal ally. Completely burning it to ashes is the best way to completely destroy a zombie. Burning not only eliminates the corpse, but also the entire virus. Don't assume that a flamethrower or a few ************** will solve all your problems, though. In actual combat, flames are as lethal as they are protective.
Flesh and blood - human or undead, anything else - can burn for a long time. Minutes or even hours before a burning zombie finally falls, it will be ready to become a walking, or more accurately, a waddling torch. Records of several events show that the burning zombies have caused even more damage, causing far more deaths than can be achieved with teeth and fingers alone.
The flame itself has no stand. Think carefully about the flammable environment around you, the chance of inhaling toxic fumes, and the possibility that the light of the fire will be a beacon for zombies to gather. Before this powerful and unwielding weapon is unleashed, it is important to think carefully.
For this reason, flames are usually used in offensive or after-break situations, and are rarely used in defense.
1.**************
Regardless of the combination of any fragile container and any flammable liquid, the finished product can be used to create a fire. This is an effective way to quickly annihilate a large number of zombies in one fell swoop. If conditions allow - for example, to eliminate a chasing zombie brigade, to empty a fire-resistant structure, or to destroy all the zombies entrenched in a combustible building - at all costs, and dispose of corpses that cannot be safely - until they are completely reduced to ashes.
2. Splash
All that is required for the whole spill operation is to fill a container with flammable liquid (gasoline, no, etc.), throw it on a zombie or group of zombies, and then smear a match to ignite the liquid trail on the ground. If there is room to escape without damage from the embers, the only drawback is that you have to get close enough to the enemies to get them wet.
3. Blowtorch
A common flare tool, the basic structure of which is to connect a can of propane to an adjustable nozzle, which does not have the heat and fuel capacity to burn a zombie's mind through. But it is a handy ignition tool used to ignite a suspicious corpse soaked in fuel.
4. Flamethrower
This weapon, I'm afraid more than all the others, is more in line with what people think of as the ultimate zombie terminator. A flamethrower, two hundred feet of napalm, is undoubtedly the best tool for a bright cremation ceremony for a large group of zombies. So why not get it? Why don't you throw away everything else in exchange for this man-made fire dragon? The answer is based on numerous examples.
The flamethrower was developed as a purely military weapon and is no longer in service with the U.S. Army and Marine Corps. It's quite difficult to get a piece of it, even without considering whether it can be put into use. And getting heavily regulated fuels is even more difficult than the injectors themselves. And if you really start with it all, you have to think about its practicality. Why carry a 70-pound piece of gear on your back when only a dozen loose zombies are blocking your way? The weight of a flamethrower makes it a burden for passers-by. Unless you're in a dilemma or have access to transportation, the threat of exhaustion is as terrifying as the living dead.
Common sense places the flamethrower in the face of an overwhelming number of zombies, when the number of the living dead is in the hundreds, if not thousands. If the situation is really so terrifying, who has more chances of survival? Is it a large and well-equipped government force? Or is it a lone civilian and his trusty (please forget that it is illegal for civilians to use it) flamethrower?
