Text: Chapter XIX

Several tentacles emerged from the newly created wall and stretched forward, forcing Lannie into the gap behind her.

Lannie tried to re-establish the barrier, but the orange light that emerged was instantly dispersed by the tentacles. Unable to retreat, she touched the wall behind her and was forced to stop. Avoiding the approaching tentacles, she slipped sideways through the gap in the wall and into the corridor.

The gap immediately closed, making the wall complete.

The corridor stretched straight ahead. A dozen paces away from Lannie could be seen on a podium with a round object on it. Other than that, there are no other objects in the corridor.

Barb-covered tentacles poked out of the otherwise notched wall and stretched again, forcing Lannie deeper into the corridor.

Placed on the podium was a doll's head sewn from several rags. Two cap-sized nuts make up the doll's eyes, and the cloth underneath the eyes is painted with red watercolor with two rows of sharp teeth. The place where the fabric is put together looks like a scar, making the doll's face look a little hideous.

As Lanny walked past the lecture, the doll's head spun around and stared at Lanny with nut eyes.

The tentacles quickly extended over, dispersing the light that made up the podium and the doll's head.

The end of the promenade is blocked by a wall, creating a cul-de-sac.

"How?" Lanny had to stop and look back.

At some point, all the tentacles that stretched out disappeared. Lannie was presented with a promenade that looked exactly like the area she had just walked through.

In the middle of the corridor there is still a podium, on which lies a half-human-tall doll.

Tentacles peeked out of the wall behind Lannie, forcing her forward once more.

The doll lying on the podium has no lower limbs. Fabric and padding were sewn into its upper body, and the head, which had the same appearance as before, was now metallic. Sharp fangs poked out of its mouth, making its face much more hideous.

Lannie held a barrier between herself and the doll, and walked briskly past the podium.

The doll's head turned and creaked. Its hand slowly lifted and slapped limply against the barrier.

Once again, a wall blocked Lannie's path. She turned around, and the same scene happened again—a new corridor appeared behind her, but this time, there was nothing on the podium in the center of the corridor.

The corridor suddenly became brighter. Behind the podium, a wooden door emerges from the wall at the end of the corridor.

A female sign is attached to the wooden door, and a square sign with the words "Under Repair" hangs underneath this sign.

Lanny walked over to the wooden door and reached out to push it open, but no sooner had her hand lifted than a leg sewn of fabric kicked out from behind her, kicking it open.

Lannie looked back in surprise, only to see an empty corridor.

The open wooden door revealed a bright and tidy bathroom.

The scene around Lannie receded behind her, allowing her, still standing still, through the kicked door to the center of the bathroom.

Facing Lannie was a row of washbasins with a large mirror above them. Instead of reflecting the inside of the restroom, the mirror emits a white glow. To Lannie's right are several toilet cubicles side by side, and to her left is an empty wall. The middle part of the wall is not tiled, and it looks very incongruous.

A thin layer of mist spread from under Lanny's feet and covered the entire bathroom floor.

A young woman pushed open the door to one of the cubicles and walked out. She looked to be in her twenties and wore loose, light clothing.

Lanny frowned and took a few steps back. The woman continued to look ahead, looking at the wall on the other side of the bathroom.

With a crisp sound of footsteps, the untiled part of the wall broke a small slit. One of the wall panels rotates a little towards the interior of the bathroom, creating a gap for people to pass through.

A doll made of metal squeezed through the staggered wall panels and walked into the bathroom. It has two slender legs, and its toes against the ground are painted with red paint, which at first glance looks a bit like ballet shoes. One of its arms was split from the ends, splitting into two flat pieces of metal, and the other arm was attached to a heavy piece of metal that looked like the head of a hammer.

The woman standing outside the cubicle turned slowly.

The metal doll stepped forward, picked up her arm, and smashed a hammer-like hand on the back of the woman's head.

Everything in the bathroom lost its light at the same time and disappeared into the darkness. Immediately after, the large mirror that Lanny was facing burst into white light, illuminating the scene in front of her.

The metal doll took over Lannie's entire view. It stretched out its legs and fell diagonally above, stabbing its forked hand at Lannie.

A cloud of orange light bounced Lannie backwards, causing her to glide some distance on the ground.

The doll falls to the ground. Its forked hand slashed across the outside of its left leg, cutting a cut in that leg. In the next second, several tentacles with barbs stretched out from the rift, and then stabbed at Lannie together.

The light from the mirror suddenly vanished, plunging everything around Lanny into darkness once again.

An orange hemispherical surface expands around Lanny, blocking the stabbing tentacles.

The tentacles swung wildly, whipping at the hemispherical surface again and again, making it darker and darker.

The metal doll slowly passed through the swinging tentacles. It pushes the tip of its left leg against the hemispherical surface and pushes forward. The hemispherical surface shattered immediately.

A tentacle took the opportunity to wrap its grip around Lannie's arm, stabbing the barb into her flesh.

At that moment, a dazzling purple light burst out from beneath the bathroom, piercing the metal doll and its tentacles.

The ground beneath Lannie's feet crumbled, and she fell with it.

A purple orb appeared beneath Lannie, causing her to slowly land in the clearing in front of the lonely house.

Not far away, Emilia glanced at Lannie, then looked back at the floating candlestick. Her body trembled slightly, her mouth panting open and closed.

Another blue blade of light spawned next to the candlestick.

"I can't deal with it and fight a few of you at the same time." Emilia said, "Steven is behind the house, you need to get him out." ”
