Chapter 13: Killing

In order to get rid of the threat of the Eaters, the queen decides to capture the monsters.

In the night sky with colorful guano color, shrouded in a moving white, it is the white wings of the butterfly that obscure the night, and in the reflection of colorful light, the world is white.

The monster flapped its huge wings and the wind blew a large field of fluttering butterflies, he caught a mammoth in his sharp claws, the orc's horn woke it up from its indulgence in the lake, and now it was going to have a full meal, and if it wanted to have the spirit and no longer choose to sleep, it would bring a killing.

The weapon that the queen intended to use to capture the monster was a fireball that burned with fire. The queen called it the "Red Sun", and the fireball streaked through the air, making contact with the dry butterfly's wings and causing a fireworks. Falling were ashes that burned with the wind. The monster was trapped in the sea of fire and burned its wings.

To lighten the load on its wings, the monster threw the prey from its claws and killed several orcs. It tried to fly higher through the burning sea of fire and landed on an island of colorful guano in the night sky. Fireballs followed. The orcs waited under the island on flying dogs. The colorful islands transparently reflected the shaking shadows of monsters and fireballs, and after several collisions of conflict, the island split into several pieces. The brave orcs saw the moment and threw their spears, and the monster was enraged, opening its teeth and palate to bite the fireball.

Enduring the pain of the flames roasting the flesh of its limbs, the monster folded its wings and fell. The landing was a frozen lake, and the ice and water were stirred up into the air, causing a huge concussion, and then the water gradually calmed down, and steam and bubbles rose one after another.

The queen ordered all the orcs to prepare their nets and spears and rush to the lake, sewing them together with dozens of nets, and the orcs drove the canoes to pull the nets and seal the lake. The spear-wielding orcs were on the shore, waiting to be dispatched.

The days were short, and the cold of the night solidified the surface of the lake into a calm flat, and the orcs began to hide in their tents where campfires were lit, and only rows of footprints of heavily furred rabbits remained on the solid surface of the lake.

I guessed that the queen would obviously be in a bad mood about the lost fireball, but to my surprise, the queen was cold and silent about it. She simply instructed the gnomes to take the ice away from the tent and lit a few bonfires in the tent to keep out the cold. The queen also told me that tonight, she didn't need guards.

I said goodbye to the queen and continued to live with the old orc Barth, whose tent was a little rudimentary, and I lay on a bed supported by branches and saw the starry sky.

I've learned to communicate with them.

Bart told me, "We still have to go, and the brightest star in the night sky is where we're headed." For orcs, life is spent on the move. ”

Bart was very old, and he may have been a warrior when he was younger, but now he coughed violently, and he told me that his healthy leg was in pain, and that one day he would never be able to stand up again, and would have to crawl.

I said, "You're going to be fine." ”

Bart shook his head and said, "Birth, old age, sickness and death are the laws of nature, and death is just a return to nature." I have accomplished my mission. ”

This savage orc fully interprets his worth. He added: "If there is a day, I will leave alone, go to a hidden place, and be buried with the bones of my ancestors." ”

I changed the subject: "What will happen to that red sun?"

"I don't know, it's mystical to me, it seems mysterious to me, but I don't like it," Bart said. ”
