Chapter 120: Reciting the Compendium of the Scriptures
It's just that, seeing the back, Ling Tian found that 'Sanzang' was just a title.
However, Ling Tian in his hand was like a demon, he kept looking at it, and he couldn't throw it away if he wanted to.
Zhihai constantly records the information of the "Outline of the Scriptures".
He found that he could clearly remember these common sense things.
It's just that, looking at it, he suddenly found that his memory of the sea of knowledge has become slow, and the 'scriptures, laws, and treatises' are divided into hand-copied Tripitaka, engraved and printed Tripitaka, stone-carved Tripitaka, and so on.
The earliest formation was the Hinayana Buddhism Sanzang, followed by the Mahayana Buddhism Sanzang, and the last was the Tantric Sanzang.
The formation of the Three Tibets of Theravada Buddhism, according to the records of the "Compendium of Scriptures", a total of four famous assemblies were held.
I just saw 'Shakyamuni' Ling Tian stunned again.
It's just that after being stunned for a moment, Ling Tian realized that this was also a title.
Some of the names I know are just a record of the development of Buddhism.
The slowdown of the thinking consciousness of the sea was slowed down, and Ling Tian looked at it carefully.
After the death of Shakyamuni, the memories held by the believers recorded the words of Shakyamuni when he was alive.
After a total of four assemblies, the Theravada Buddhism gradually formed a complete system.
The first assembly of Theravada Buddhism: 90 days after Shakyamuni's death, in order to prevent more monks in the Sangha from breaking the precepts, His Holiness Mahakāyā called 500 arhats to hold the first assembly of the sutras in the Seven Leaves Cave.
The assembly began with the recitation of the Buddha's precepts by Venerable Upali to form the Vinaya, the full name of which is the Eighty Vinaya Vinayas, and since each precept is determined by the public through questions and answers, it is regarded as the precept made by the Buddha himself, and is the foundation of all precepts.
Later, Ananda recalled the Buddha's teachings and formed the "Ahama Sutra", which was the first method taught by Shakyamuni to the five bhikshus after his enlightenment, which contained the most fundamental teachings of Buddhism such as the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path, and the Twelve Causes and Conditions, and the most primitive Buddhist scriptures.
The second assembly: 110 years after Shakyamuni's death, 700 monks led by Elder Yasha held the second assembly in Vaishali.
The assembly was held to discuss the ten precepts (i.e., the Ten Things) proposed by the Vaishali Bhikshus, and a small number of elders of such stature at the assembly ruled the Ten Acts to be illegal.
Unconvinced by the decision of this assembly, the Vaishali monks held another meeting of about 10,000 people and ruled that the above ten things were legitimate, thus forming the Mass and Theravada Sects.
The third assembly: It was 226 years after the death of Shakyamuni, during the reign of Emperor Ashoka, because Ashoka admired Buddhism, he offered tens of thousands of monks in Jiyuan Temple every day, and there were many foreign monks, so it often caused disputes.
Therefore, Emperor Moggallanzi muster gathered 1,000 monks and conducted a third assembly in the city of Fahrenheit (i.e., the city of Portoli) to reorganize the Ahama Sutra.
After the assembly, Emperor Moggallan had to sort out the arguments of the different schools and form the "Treatise on Things", which formed the first treatise of Buddhism.
The Fourth Assembly: 674 years after Shakyamuni's death, during the reign of King Kasserka, 500 bhikshus held the fourth assembly at Kashmira with His Holiness the World-Friends as the throne, at which all the previous sutras, Vinayas, and commentaries on the Tripitaka were summarized, and detailed commentaries were made.
However, after continuous circulation, only one kind of commentary has been preserved, forming the "Treatise on the Mahavibhasha", thus the basic formation of the Three Tibets of Theravada Buddhism.
Looking at the formation of Buddhism and the slowing down of his thinking consciousness, Ling Tiancai knew what he knew in the dark.
Perhaps it was the effect of the 'Buddha and Demon Twin Techniques', or the slowdown of thinking about the sea, Ling Tian was immersed in the "Outline of the Scriptures".
The formation and appearance of the Mahayana Buddhism Sanzang is related to 'Nagarjuna', the biography of Nagarjuna?, Nagarjuna comprehended all the scriptures of Theravada Buddhism in less than three months after he became a monk and received ordination.
"Nima, what's the situation?" Ling Tian didn't expect such a Bull person to appear, and he had an epiphany of so many scriptures in three months.
With the traction of his heart, Ling Tian's mind always stayed in the "Outline of the Scriptures".
Nagarjuna once passed by a snow-capped mountain and met an old monk in the tower of the snow-capped mountain, from whom he obtained the Mahayana Sutra by chance.
Although he comprehended the Mahayana Sutra, he did not comprehend its mysteries because of the lack of blessings and chances, so he meditated in the crystal room and meditated on its subtleties.
At this time, the Great Dragon Bodhisattva took pity on his infatuation and took him to the Dragon Palace in the sea, and taught him the profound scriptures of the formulas.
Later, Nagarjuna founded the Madhyamaka school after consulting the Mahayana Sutra and other scriptures, and Mahayana Buddhism was thus fully established.
Later, a series of sutras continued to appear, namely the Prajna Sutra, the Huayan Sutra, the Lotus Sutra, etc., and Nagarjuna Bodhisattva became enlightened again, and the follow-up Mahayana Sutras such as the Nirvana Sutra, the Victory Sutra, the Explanation of the Profound Tantra, and the Ranga Sutra came out
"Rub, this guy has reached such a high level, I wonder if I will be able to see it one day?"
Looking at it, Ling Tian's mind was like lightning.
Tantric Sanzang is based on the "Great Nikjing" and "Diamond Sutra" as the main classics, and the two classics together are called "Buddha and Demon Shuangyanju" by later generations.
Seeing this, Ling Tian was stunned.
"What's wrong?"
Lin Ruoxi, who was on the side, flipped through the scriptures, but she had no clue, she was paying attention to Ling Tian at any time, and found that Ling Tian was stunned, and asked.
"Hehe, it's okay, I'm fascinated by it, have you gained anything?"
"I can't see anything, it feels like it's in the clouds!"
A trace of bitterness appeared on her charming face, and Lin Ruoxi shook her head.
However, Ling Tian knew that the 'Buddha and Demon Twin Techniques' he cultivated was the Great Nikjing, and he devoted all his mind to it.
Things he didn't understand, he wanted to get a glimpse of them.
The Great Nikkei is said to be a secret Buddhist scripture taught by the Great Day Nyorai for Vajrapani in the Vajra Dharma Realm Palace.
This sutra mainly teaches sentient beings the rigpa mandala, that is, the pure bodhichitta inherent to sentient beings, and the three tantric conveniences of body, speech, and mind.
It looks at tantric practices such as mandalas, empowerments, goma, seals, and mantras.
The Diamond Sutra is the fundamental sutra of the Tantric Vajra realm.
This sutra expounds the ultimate spiritual philosophy of the great sage Shakyamuni Buddha and shows the true tantric and tantric teachings of the world.
It encompasses the coarse, fine, subtle, subtle, and subtle veins of the practitioner, and also clarifies the secret of immediate-body attainment and eternal life.
"What does all this portend?" The monstrous waves set off in his heart couldn't be calmed down for a long time.
"Xiao Tian, how did the inside of your eyes become golden?" Just as Ling Tian was fascinated, Lin Ruoxi on the side noticed Ling Tian's strange behavior.
