Chapter Eighty-Nine: Sleepiness

Actually, let's ignore the mythological perspective. Jiang Chen always believed that Qin Shi Huang Yingzheng did not have the deeds of "burning books and pit Confucianism", and the so-called "burning books and pit Confucianism" should be "burning poetry and books and pit warlocks".

To put it simply, it is to pit those gods who pretend to be ghosts.

In 219 BC, Xu Fu went to sea and disappeared directly...... Then in 212 BC, there were Fang Shi Lu Sheng, Hou Sheng and others who wanted to escape with huge sums of money in the name of seeking immortals. When the First Emperor saw it, didn't he regard himself as the culprit of wrongdoing? Therefore, he began the so-called "book burning and pit Confucianism."

It can be seen from this that it is very likely that the First Emperor was deceived by the magic sticks, and the more he thought about it, the more angry he became, and then he would do something to those divine sticks.

In other words, the main target of the book-burning pit should be a warlock who pretends to be a ghost. The so-called "books" are also mostly divination books. It has nothing to do with Confucianism and the Confucian classics.

It was not until the Han Dynasty that Sima Qian's historical records appeared in the first emperor's statement that "burning poetry books and pit warlocks, so the six arts are incomplete". But there has never been a record of "Confucianism".

It was only after the great revival of Confucianism in the Western Han Dynasty that he gradually blackened Qin Shi Huang's "burning books and pit Confucianism" and said that he was very miserable. But in fact, it is just to find an excuse for the "modern literature and classics" that he has created.

It can be seen from this that Dong Zhongshu is extremely shameless. Privately changing the school, his Confucianism is very different from the Confucianism of Confucius and Mencius.

In fact, since the Eastern Han Dynasty, Confucian classics have been unearthed in an endless stream. It also formed a school of Confucianism "ancient scriptures", whose Confucian teachings are almost opposed to modern scriptures, and the representative figure is the famous thinker Wang Chong of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Of course, not only Confucianism, but also a famous thinker of Taoism.

This proves that Dong's Confucianism and Confucius's Confucianism have parted ways, and only a few superficial views are similar, and the essence has completely changed.

Of course, it is not that Confucius's Confucianism is so good, but at least it does not promote the disgusting concepts of "three qualities of sex", "heaven and man induction", "three outlines and five constants", and "divine authority of the monarch".

The third era of Confucianism was the so-called "Cheng Zhu Lixue" in the Song Dynasty. Although before Zhu Xi, there were various great Confucians with different views, but they did not fundamentally change the views of Confucianism, so it did not constitute a change of the times.

Of course, none of this is mentioned for the time being, and it is not very important. Because the world where Jiang Chen is located, after all, is the "Journey to the West True Realm", which is the era of mythology.

The Confucian views here, especially those led by Confucius, are likely to be of great benefit to Jiang Chen. Especially if this narrator is still the words of the Bodhi Patriarch, it is even more necessary to listen to them......

......

......

However, as Patriarch Bodhi narrated, the more Jiang Chen listened, the more he frowned, and the more bored he felt.

This......

What is this?

What Patriarch Bodhi taught was really Confucianism.

Although it is not the same as the concept of Confucianism that Jiang Chen has heard all along, it is a kind of exposition of etiquette and how to behave as a person. But......

Jiang Chen was helpless.

Why did I come here to learn how to be a human being?

“...... In this world, the truth of freedom in its operation. It is necessary to follow the rituals of heaven in order to be able to follow the heavens and achieve the Tao. The so-called etiquette is the basic morality that people are formed under the way of heaven and all things in the world should follow. Although, in different eras, the benchmark of morality may also change. But even so, it is possible to deduce and perceive the concept of the Heavenly Dao from the following points. ”

"In the 'Confucianism' character gate, this concept of conforming to the way of heaven is basically divided into the following types, namely: benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom, faith, forgiveness, loyalty, filial piety, and compassion...... The meaning of benevolence is to have a universal love for all......"

"Of course, there are always things that work. Although the above concepts are fundamental, there are exceptions. For example, if someone is unkind to you first, you can also be unjust to them. As the saying goes, 'repay grievances with virtue, how can we repay virtue'? Only when we repay grievances with straightforwardness can we act in accordance with the way of heaven......"

I have to say that what Patriarch Bodhi said is still very simple and very basic. Moreover, vaguely, Jiang Chen could feel a little bit that the Dao of Bodhi Patriarch was actually an elaboration of the Dao of Heaven.

Although the views of benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and faith originate from Confucianism, their roots are a way of seeking "conforming to the way of heaven".

In fact, this point is quite important in the mythological world.

For example, in fact, many times, when a cultivator is acting, he often inadvertently does a lot of things that "go against the sky". For example, in the eyes of youkai, eating people is not a big deal, just like people eating animals.

However, if there is really a youkai who cultivates as an ordinary person, he dares to eat a city casually. There is no doubt that his behavior can be called "going against the sky", and it is estimated that even if the cultivators of the human race do not kill him, he will be subjected to a terrifying catastrophe by the Heavenly Dao.

It's easy to understand. Just like it is common for humans to eat animals, but if humans do their best to catch fish, they will directly exterminate the animals. That also formed an effect similar to that of "against the sky".

Of course, the rebellion against heaven here does not mean that there is a direct confrontation with the Heavenly Dao, and even the people who have done this kind of thing do not have the corresponding concept. However, the cause and effect are extremely terrifying.

In addition, most of the people present were spirits.

So from this point of view, it is no wonder that the Bodhi Patriarch will first tell the truth of the word "Confucianism" to educate these spirits.

But thinking of this, Jiang Chen glanced at Brother Monkey. If Brother Monkey really agrees with the truth of this Confucian sect, it is estimated that he will not be able to resist the Heavenly Palace in the future.

Under this look, Jiang Chen finally understood. It turned out that it was good, Brother Monkey was dozing off at the moment and had fallen asleep. This is special, it seems that Brother Monkey is not interested in this thing!

Thinking of this, Jiang Chen also had no scruples. Anyway, for him, he is not interested in these great principles of Confucianism, and there is no need to be obsessed with learning. He closed his eyes slightly, felt the breeze blowing, and exuded the fragrance, and soon gradually fell asleep under the gentle words of the Bodhi Patriarch......

However, at this very time.

Boom!

Suddenly, Jiang Chen's forehead hurt: "Pain, pain, pain!"

Jiang Chen immediately covered his forehead, his body cultivation was already as hard as iron, and he was actually beaten. He raised his head, but found that Patriarch Bodhi was holding a ring ruler in his hand, and looked at him lightly: "Jiang Chen, although you are not my disciple yet, you fell asleep when you first heard the sermon. Have you ever been in awe?"

Jiang Chen was immediately furious when he heard this.

Damn, you don't care if Brother Monkey is sleeping there, I dozed off and hit me. Treat them differently!

However, after all, in the face of the unfathomable Bodhi Patriarch, he naturally didn't dare to contradict it too much, but said: "Patriarch, please don't be angry, although I am asleep, but the truth of the patriarch is all in mind." If you don't believe me, the patriarch can inspect me!"
