Chapter Eighty-Eight: Moonlight
Stars dip into the sea, and thin waves swell up the Milky Way.
Norin woke up quietly.
He lay on a luxuriously comfortable bed, covered with a velvet quilt. There were many colorful tassels hanging from the ceiling, and the decorations around him gave him a better understanding of the concept of the rich man.
On the small table next to the bed, there is a plate of steaming food and a glass of juice. It was supposed that the waiters changed every once in a while, after all, they didn't know when Norin would wake up.
Just as he woke up, Norlin was also a little hungry, and quickly ate the food prepared by the Selwyn family.
Taylor Selwyn gave him the most effective mana recovery potion, and after only a few hours, Norlin felt that his body was full of mana and returned to his peak state.
When he had nothing to do, he walked out of the room and prepared to wander outside.
The house-elves who were cleaning the hall saw him and bowed. Norin smiled back, and they immediately ducked away in panic.
Norlin remembered Hermione he had met in London, and wondered if she would be a staunch supporter of house-elf liberation in a few years.
Thinking wildly, Norlin walked out of the mansion and into the manor.
There are frogs chirping and the cries of some unknown magical creatures all around, which makes the night even quieter.
"Huh?"
Norlin was somewhat surprised to find a girl sitting next to the fountain. She was looking up at the stars, and the moonlight was gently draped over her face like a veil.
"Still not sleeping so late?"
Norin walked over, sat down beside her, and asked curiously.
"Are you awake?"
Norin walked quietly, Elena was startled, turned her head to look, breathed a sigh of relief, and asked with some worry:
"No more rest?"
"Wake up naturally. Your potion works pretty well. Norlin said with a smile, reaching for the fountain's colorful water and looking at it curiously.
The sweet smell of spring water came to my nose.
Rich people, even the fountain is so high-class.
Elena was silent for a while, then whispered:
"Thank you."
"Didn't you say yes, it should."
Norin shook his head nonchalantly and said nonchalantly.
"It's different."
Elena clasped her knees with both hands, looked at the Milky Way in the sky with a confused look, and whispered:
"Before I was eight years old, my mom used to take me here to see the stars and teach me how to distinguish between the stars and the constellations."
"At that time, I had no idea that my mother still had such a terrible and painful curse, and she never showed the slightest abnormality in front of me."
"It wasn't until I was eight years old when I was in a magical riot that those marks that seemed to grow from the depths of hell appeared on my body, and my mother told me the truth in tears."
Norlin gently lowered the spring water in his hand, moved closer to her, and listened quietly.
"Every time the curse appears, I wonder what kind of pain my mother should endure if she has been hiding it from me for years?"
A few crystal tears fell from the corners of her eyes, and she shook her head and said with a crying voice,
"Since then, I rarely look at the stars with my mom. I've always been strong, and I don't want them to feel sorry for me. I studied magic desperately, desperately trying to find a way to break the curse, and devoted all my time to it. But I can't do it, it's too hard. β
"The family has been plagued by curses for hundreds of thousands of years, and it is still too difficult for me to be alone."
Norlin patted her trembling shoulder, letting her vent, and looked up at the stars in silence.
"Every day I was scared, afraid that she could leave me at any moment. So, Nolin, you don't understand how grateful and touched I was when you sealed the curse for me. Because I see hope. And now hope is slowly becoming a reality. β
The girl looked at Norin with teary eyes, and Norlin saw such an Elena for the first time.
At this moment, Norlin felt that the starlight in the sky ran into the girl's eyes.
"Cry."
Norlin rubbed the girl's long, silky hair and whispered.
A couple stood by the window on the second floor, smiling at the scene. Laughing and laughing, tears welled up in the woman's eyes.
β¦β¦
At noon the next day, the Selwyns still had a sumptuous lunch.
After eating and drinking, Norlin was ready to say goodbye. He felt a little embarrassed to be in someone else's house again.
The Selwyns tried to keep him, even suggesting that it didn't matter how long he stayed, but Norlin firmly refused. After more than half a year, he also misses Privet Road's home a little.
Seeing that he couldn't keep him, Taylor Selwyn could only ask him to agree, and he would often come to the Selwyn family as a guest in the future.
Norlin agreed, and Taylor Selwyn instructed the butler to prepare the Thestrals.
"The head of the house, Lucius Malfoy, is visiting."
A middle-aged wizard dressed in Selwyn's robes suddenly walked in and spoke.
"Ask him to come in."
Taylor Selwyn raised his eyebrows slightly, said, and turned to the butler and whispered a command.
After a while, two blond figures, one large and one small, entered the hall.
Norlin looked casually, Lucius Malfoy had pale blonde hair, cold gray-blue eyes, and a pale, pointed face. He was followed by none other than his son, Draco Malfoy.
Draco Malfoy has inherited his genes perfectly, literally carved out of a mold. At this time, he was curiously scanning the Selwyn family's living room, and at the same time with a bit of scrutiny, as if comparing the dΓ©cor of his house.
Noticing that there was another man his age in the room, he raised his chin slightly and looked Norlin up and down.
"Taylor, long time no see."
As soon as he entered, Lucius Malfoy smiled politely.
"Long time no see, Lucius."
Taylor Selwyn replied lukewarmly, "Please sit on the couch for a while." β
After saying that, he turned around and continued to say to Norin:
"Be sure to do it again before school starts, you and Elena can go to Hogwarts together."
"Okay."
Norin thought for a moment and nodded in agreement.
The butler of the Selwyn family came over again, holding a long gift box in his hand.
"It's a little bit of a gift from me, not a thank you."
Taylor Selwyn smiled and stuffed the gift box into Nolin's arms, patted Nolin on the shoulder, and said,
"Let's go, I'll send you out."
After leaving the mansion, the Thestrals' carriage was already waiting in the manor.
Before Nolin waved at them and got into the carriage, Elena stopped him.
"What's wrong?"
Norin asked, paused in his footsteps.
"For you."
Elena untied a silver necklace from her snow-white neck, placed it in Nolin's hand, and looked him straight in the eye.
"Don't say no, okay?"
The girl's eyes were so clear. Norin's heartstrings were inexplicably touched.
He held the necklace, a gentle smile bloomed at the corner of his mouth, and said:
"See you at the beginning of school."
