Chapter 167: Exams
The rainy beginning of June is a good time for exams.
In fact, the final exams had already started on Monday, but the Magical Beasts Protection class had always been ranked at the bottom of all subjects, only ahead of Professor Trelawney's divination class. So, for Calvin, the final exams have just begun.
Since the Magical Beasts Protection class was an elective subject, excluding the fifth and seventh grades that were prepared by the Ministry of Magic, he only needed to invigilate three grades, but the number of students in the sixth grade was no more than twenty, and he only needed to carefully prepare for the third and fourth grade exams.
I believe that by the next class, the number of students in the sixth grade will increase.
There are only a handful of relaxed professors like Calvin, and most of them need to spend a lot of energy dealing with the whimsical cheating methods of the young wizards.
"Those kids can't even find the Aurors who are smuggling," Buendia said to Calvin a little tiredly, "It's good that I got you a speculum in advance, or I'd have been tricked by them."
"Normal, Aureliano," Calvin reassured, "you're a first-time professor, so it's not surprising that you can't play with students."
"What did the other professors do?" The Brazilian wizard was a little curious.
Calvin shrugged, "I didn't ask either, but it is said that the professor who teaches the divination class never checks for cheating."
"Professor Trelawney?" Buendia was a little incredulous, "Is she so relieved of her students?"
"Or maybe she can't catch it," Calvin said, "and Professor McGonagall told me that she likes to use divination to check if students are cheating."
Naturally, Calvin couldn't use such an unreliable way to check cheating. In the Magical Beasts Protection classroom, Calvin waved his wand, and the long row of seats was split into single seats.
When all the third-graders were seated, a quill and a test paper appeared abruptly on their desks. Then Calvin held his right hand on the wall of the classroom, and a bright yellow circle of light spread out, enveloping the entire room - Calvin used his powerful magic power to suppress the magic fluctuations of others in the entire classroom.
"I have to warn you that any of the magic items in this room are not working at the moment, so if you don't believe me, you can try it with an automatic error correction quill. In addition, I have precautions against Muggle tactics like cheat sheets, so if you want to cheat, just try it."
When the exam began, Calvin did not choose to wander the corridor of the classroom, but sat on a chair next to the podium, and released more than eighty crimson birds, standing on each candidate's desk, to proctolate the exam in his place.
When an hour had passed since the exam, Calvin noticed that a student had already completed the exam paper and looked around in his seat.
"Graham Monty!" Calvin snapped a reminder, "I suggest you check the exam papers carefully and don't harass others, do you think you did well in the exam?"
-----------------
After the third grade invigilation, Amor corrected the nearly 90 test papers on the same day.
8 O's, 24 E's, and a perfect score, compared to the miserable results of previous years, it can be said that it is a very good improvement.
Forty percent of the students were excellent and good, and even more passed, and only a small number of students who were not eye-opening failed to pass, and Calvin gave them all T. ….
"Combined with the overall score of the practical class, they should not be beaten when they get the report card. Hopefully, this result will help them choose my improvement class in the future." Calvin looked at the student's report card and was in a good mood, which kept him from getting angry while invigilating the last two exams.
By the end of the first week of June, most of the students' exams were over. Their laughter made the fifth and seventh graders in the castle who were still preparing for the exam very anxious.
"George, Fred," Calvin scolds his protégé in the auditorium, who is harassing his brother Percy, who is preparing for the exam, "Is the task I gave you done?" I'm going to check it out next week."
After some point-and-finger explanations, the twins left the auditorium in a gloomy manner.
"Thank you, Professor Capet." Percy, who got rid of the twins, thanked Calvin.
"Percy, it's nothing, and I hope you get a good grade." Calvin sat next to the exemplary student, "If you can, can you take my placement class next semester?" I want a respected student leader to help me manage my class."
"This—" Percy was a little overwhelmed, he didn't really want to join the Magical Beasts Protection class.
Calvin smiled slightly, "Percy, I heard that you want to go into politics after graduation? I have the title of Senior Security Advisor to the Ministry of Magic, and I'm good friends with Minister Fudge, and I'm sure I can help you a lot."
With that, Calvin picked up a black ball from the hem of his robe and placed it in front of Percy's table, a Peruvian smoke bomb.
"As a final word of war, if you want to deal with twins, you should first get to know them."
Shortly after the final exam results were announced, Calvin saw several wizards in the castle who were about the same age as Dumbledore, or even older than him, and they were the examiners of this year's wizarding exams, led by a diminutive hunchbacked witch, Gestilda Marchban, who was said to have proctored Dumbledore, which was incredible.
Her eyes scanned around the professors, and when she saw Cape and Buendia standing together, she walked up to them and said in a loud voice that was not commensurate with her short stature, "Two professors, you shouldn't be Hogwarts graduates, I don't remember invigilating you."
This old lady's memory is surprisingly good.
Calvin said modestly, "Indeed, I graduated from Beauxbatons, and this one graduated from Castrobuscher."
"What?" Marchiban turned his head sideways, his ears almost in front of him.
Calvin then used his magic to amplify his voice and repeated what he had just said.
"Yes, they're all good schools, and they're about the same ranking as Hogwarts." Marchiban nodded, "And what are you teaching?"
"Fantastic Beasts Protection Division." Calvin still said loudly.
Then the balding old wizard walked up to Calvin, "So, you're Calvin Capet?"
"Yes, it's me. Who are you?"
"William Wallace, Newt's former colleague." The bald wizard introduced himself.
"Oh, it's you." Calvin is really not polite, William Wallace is the most famous magical beast expert besides Newt, and the tracer dog is restored according to his ideas.
"I've read your books a lot," Wallace squeezed Calvin's hand tightly, "Your research on fantastic beasts has been very inspiring to me, but unfortunately I'm too old...... Also, I don't know if this question will be too easy for your students."
Calvin couldn't hold back a smile, "Mr. Wallace, you can't change the subject now."
