Chapter 242: The Mysterious Treasure Room
Antonidas, Dalaran's ** teacher, and the leader of Kenrito, was sitting in his study at the moment, studying a newly arrived scroll...... The question written on the scroll is severe: according to Admiral Prodmoor's report, a group of orcs stole several ships from the port of Minehill, and to make matters worse, Prodmore's fleet was ...... as he went in pursuit The dragons rushed back. Black Dragon.
Antonidas felt the veins in his temples throb, and he reached out and rubbed them.
โฎ During the Second War, the Orc tribe was helped by the Red Dragon, and now, after repairing the Dark Gate, they seem to have formed an alliance with the Black Dragon. It's simply unbelievable. How could the alliance defeat them?
Someone knocked softly on his door. "Come in, Crassus. Antonidas shouted. His magic had already been told to him, and who would still come to him at such a late hour.
"You left a message saying you want to see me?" The mage said. He walked into the study and closed the door behind him, deliberately looking very calm. Antonidas thought it was to keep him from getting angry, but his approach failed.
"Yes, I left a message. Antonidas replied, word by word, almost spurting out from between his long gray beard. "Where have you been a few months ago?"
"I have other things to do. Crassus said lightly. He stepped forward and leaned over to the edge of Antonidas' desk. Between his silver hair, the lights shone a few stars of red and black, making his hair look like flames and glittering metal.
"Anything else? You're in Kenrito's service, Crassus, I shouldn't have reminded you of that. Antonidas frowned and pointed out, "If you can't make time to do your duty." Maybe I'll have someone else take your place. โ
To his surprise, the emaciated mage in front of him lowered his head. "If that's really what you want, I'll resign. Crassus said quietly. "I'd rather stay here, though, and I assure you, I've been paying attention. Whether it's for Dalaran or Kenrito. โ
Antonidas studied him for a moment. Finally nodded. He didn't want to lose Crassus, an enigmatic mage with seemingly endless mana and knowledge, and despite the fact that he sometimes escaped reality, Antonidas thought his colleagues were just as concerned as they were.
"Let's take a look at this. He said. He placed the scroll in his hand into Crassus's hand. Crassus read the above, his face gradually occupied with fear and shock.
"Black Dragons!" When Crassus finished reading, he exclaimed softly. The mage recoiled the scroll and placed it on the table as if the scroll were going to attack him. "According to my research on red dragons. They weren't interested in war or bloodshed, they were just forced to serve the tribe. But this is the Black Dragon! Their alliance with the Orcs seems more logical and thoughtful - and of course, more dangerous. โ
"I agree. Antonidas said, "Crassus, you are our expert in dragon knowledge. Do you think there's a way to stop them, or at least suppress their effectiveness?"
"I ......" a shrill mourning pierced the otherwise silent sky. The two mages looked at each other for a moment. They knew what the voice stood for - Dalaran's alarm. Crassus remained silent. Antonidas, on the other hand, tried to identify its source. Where did that spell come from? Is it that one, orโ
"Mysterious Treasure Room!" Eventually, Antonidas said, his eyes wide. "Someone has broken into the treasure room!" ...
The expression on Crassus's face at the moment was as frightened as he was. Located in the heart of Violet Castle, the Mystery Vault is protected by the most powerful magic ever invented by mages. There are many artifacts hidden in it, as well as some that the mage himself cannot use. However, items that do not risk falling into the hands of others.
Crassus held out his hand. Antonidas grabbed each other's hands, and the two teleported to the mysterious treasure room without a word.
The world around them began to blur, and Antonidas's cozy, wall-lined room was gone, replaced by a massive stone room. Its floor and walls are roughly carved out of the earth, and its ceiling is vaulted. This room has no windows and only one door. Except for the open space near the exit, the rest of the room was filled with partitions, chests, and bookcases.
In the midst of the dust and the objects, several people stood in it. Antonidas thought, at least they should be human. Then, his senses sensed the black aura that surrounded them. But before they could turn around and show the eyes that glittered beneath their hoods, Antonidas knew the true identities of the creatures that had crossed the barrier set up by the mages. He knew, and he panicked about it......
Dead warlocks use human corpses to reanimate themselves. These Death Knights possessed enough dark power to turn Antonidas in panic, enough to break through the sentry barrier that had been planted in the area, and they came to this high-protection place - for what?
The Mystery Treasure Room is stocked with a vast array of weapons available to the Death Knights, allowing them to win the war once and for all. But despite this, they did not touch those priceless treasures. They stood around a figure, the man in the middle holding something in his hand. Antonidas focused on the object. It's powerful, and its magic feels familiar. The leader of the team, the Death Knight, began to shift, gently lifting the object in his hand, the light reflecting a purplish-red glow on its facets, illuminating the room. Antonidas understood what kind of treasure could make the Death Knights ignore the other treasures around them.
"He took the Eye of Dalaran!" Antonidas shouted. He raised one hand and cast a mysterious magic arrow, using his other hand to summon the other Kenrito members. The Mystery Vault doesn't have a lot of room in it, but at least they can call in some helpers so they don't become isolated from the fatigue that inevitably comes with mage duels.
This is not an official duel, though. Antonidas thought to himself. The division's magic arrow struck a death knight in the torso, slamming him into a distant wall, the hole in his chest still smoking. Another Death Knight raised his scepter, the gem glittering in the candlelight. Antonidas suddenly felt as if a pair of cold hands were grabbing him, and began to squeeze his heart. He gripped his chest with both hands, trying to overcome the sharp pain that ran through his body. The master was finally able to cast a spell, and a purple-red light jumped around him, dispelling the chill. Antonidas spotted the attack spell with his spell perception as if it were a large hand made of smoke, and he pushed it forward, allowing it to attack its master. So, the death knight was also knocked down.
Another member of Kenrito teleported to his side, an elven woman with long black hair. A long, lanky, pale hand roamed over Antonidas's chest, while the other pointed at the terrible intruders. Antonidas had a vague sense of the figures that were beginning to materialize in the room. He tried to inhale heavily, but eventually his lungs began to expand, his heart began to beat again, and the warm feeling returned to him once again. He saw the two Death Knights begin to twist their bodies in pain. The flames licked and devoured their limbs, torsos, and heads. Antonidas' eyes widened, realizing that they were trying to escape. The glow of the flames reflected the distorted shadows of the two. Suddenly, as if the flame had come to life, it began to consume the two Death Knights, until finally, they were about to become memories of the past.
Although they couldn't survive - if that statement could be used against them - the two defeated Death Knights were not willing to be the only creatures to be embraced by death.
Because of the battle just now, Antonidas was now very weak, and he could only watch helplessly as the two death knights turned around and attacked the woman who had just saved Antonidas, and their bodies were still burning with flames. (To be continued.) (ใ ))
