There is good and evil karma

There are several types of liberation. Liberation from the three negative realms, the blessings of human beings and celestial beings, or the attainment of the fruit state of shravaka-karma to get rid of samsara, and rebirth in the Western Elysium, etc., are all short-term liberations. The only way to attain eternal liberation is to become a Buddha. And in order to be liberated, one must first understand how to renounce cause and effect. If you only know that you have a good, no sorrowful, no more samsaric goal, but you don't know how to achieve it, then there is not much point in talking about liberation. Knowing how to give up cause and effect will allow us to gradually get rid of our afflictions and gain liberation.

The negative karma that needs to be eliminated can be summarized into 10 types, which are what Buddhism calls the "10 negative karmas", including the three types of negative karma created by the body (killing, stealing, and sexual immorality), the four negative karma created by language (false speech, divisive speech, bad speech, and gossip), and the three negative karma created by the mind (greed, hatred, and wrong views).

In the discourse, there is a clear explanation of the formation of all karmic karma. The discourse mentions that the karma of killing is complete, and that it has four branches of karma. In terms of killing, first, the target of the killing is determined; second, the idea of killing the other person arises in the heart; third, the tools and methods of killing the other party; Fourth, it really cut off the other party's life. Having these four items in place constitutes a complete killing karma. If you only have one or three of them, you are guilty of the same crimes, even if you do not constitute complete killing karma, but you are also guilty of being polluted by killing karma in your mind. The same is true of other negative karma.

Killing is the number one sin of Buddhists. After taking refuge in Buddhism, not harming other beings is the most basic and fundamental precept. There are many reasons why people kill, greed, hatred, arrogance, ignorance, etc. In ancient times, there were cases of killing people and sacrificing to heaven, which was ostensibly sacrificed for the sake of faith, but in fact other lives were sacrificed for faith. These are all kinds of killing because of ignorance, but in their own cognition, they think that they are cultivating, and there are many cases of this kind of killing. When others kill, they rejoice on the sidelines, and they all have the same sinful karma, let alone instigating others to create karma. Moreover, everyone who participates in the killing will receive the same sin as the killing, rather than a killing sin that is shared equally by everyone. The karmic consequences of killing are short lives, loss of life, and suffering from illness.

To steal, or to refrain from taking, is to take possession of property that does not belong to oneself. Obtaining wealth through violence is the worst form of theft. Those in power intimidate other countries or nations by waging wars and take their wealth for themselves. Another of the more serious types of theft is the use of hypocrisy and treachery to obtain other people's property. For example, many people evade taxes or embezzle, and use some blatant tricks to take other people's wealth for themselves. These are all thefts, even if they are small things, which Buddhism says is not to be taken.

Buddhism promotes monogamy. Polyandry or polygamy, sexual intercourse between minors, women during conception, physical discomfort, or unwillingness of the other party is called adultery.

Lying is a lie that is not true to others. Great lies refer to lies with evil views, not seeing ghosts and celestial beings, but lying to others that they can see them; has no supernatural powers, but boasts of supernatural powers to others; Spiritual practice does not accomplish it, but it claims to be accomplished. In this way, it is just to deceive, and if it is a monk, it will be broken immediately, which is a more serious lie. Generally speaking, this situation tends to occur among religious believers, because there are not many opportunities for people without faith to try to deceive others in this way. There are many things in the world that deceive others and exaggerate for the sake of fame and fortune.

It can be as big as sowing discord between regions or between races, and as small as sowing discord between friends and spreading rumors, causing peace between regions or between people.

Hurting people doesn't have to be just foul language. For example, even though something is true, you speak up, not out of good intentions, but out of a desire to hurt others, which is also a bad mouth. For example, some people have mental illness or physical disabilities, if you directly point out this point, it is considered evil to cause other people's hearts to be hurt. Many people think that if you don't scold someone, you won't be called evil, but in fact, sometimes even though I am speaking a good word, if I directly hurt others, the so-called words without a knife will make people's hearts break and it is also a kind of sinful karma.

What is Qiyu? Generally speaking, the content of the conversation does not involve serious deception, but telling some boring things or gossiping, telling pornographic jokes, and spreading right and wrong in various occasions is gossip.

For people and things that do not belong to oneself, including property, non-property, material, and immaterial things, even if they have not yet put into action, as long as they have the intention of taking possession of themselves, they are considered to be greedy.

Dissatisfaction with what others have done and what they have, wanting to hurt others, causing them to suffer, these are all feelings of anger that cause harm to others.

Misconceptions can be broadly divided into causalism, assertive opinions, and common. For example, denying good is rewarded with good and evil is evil, denying the suffering and ultimate liberation of the six realms of samsara, and even denying the merits of the Buddha. People who hold evil views not only confuse their own nature, but also influence others from learning the Dharma, block the wisdom of others, and hinder others from entering the Buddha's path. Among the ten evils, the evil view and sin karma are extremely serious.

When the day is impermanent, you know the person in your dreams. You can't take it with you, only karma can be carried with you.
