Chapter 54: Akisha's Story Continued

A group of five big and three thick guys came out of the bunker and happened to meet the three of them head-on.

They were carrying a large number of things on their backs or in their arms, and although they were not specifically exposed, it was obvious that they had just been taken out of the bunker in front of them.

The captain was in his spirits at once, but he also knew that it was a ridiculous choice to argue with such a group of guys in person, so he motioned to the two behind him to get out of the way, intending to wait for these guys to leave and then go down to see if there was anything left.

But the men just stood there, talking to each other in a stealthy way, and then looking at the three of them with a look that began to turn unkind.

The captain chuckled in his heart and hurriedly began to explain.

"Don't worry about us leaking the location, the location of this place has already been leaked, as far as I know, the old slippery head who sells maps will definitely not keep his promise, he has already sold maps to many treasure hunters in Hoover Dam City, even if you stay, we can't keep this place secret." These words did not have any effect, and the men had begun to put down their burdens for a moment and raise their long and short weapons in their hands.

Seeing that the situation was not good, the captain's eyes rolled, and he suddenly put his hand in his pocket and was about to take out a flashbang to disrupt the situation, but unexpectedly, the sharp eyes of one of the people standing at the front of the other group noticed the captain's small movements at a glance, and he pulled out his pistol like lightning and hit the captain's hand with one shot.

"Ahh - "The captain rolled on the ground with his shattered hand, and this sudden change scared Akisha, who had never seen a big scene, into a daze, and she stood stunned and didn't dare to move.

Chut, who had quietly retreated when he found the people coming out of the bunker, had already walked to the position behind Akisha, and he took advantage of the captain's tragic situation to attract the attention of most people for a short moment and suddenly threw out a cloth bag-like thing, but the terrible thing was that he didn't think about throwing it to the side of those thugs at all, but threw it directly under Akisha's feet.

The thugs were stunned, and their attention immediately shifted from Chute, who had begun to turn and flee, to the unidentified object next to Akisha.

Akisha watched the eighty percent explosives stop rolling beside her, and her eyes had already begun to wander, from the first exploration of the pre-war ruins when she went out to play alone as a child, and before she left, she didn't dare to say goodbye to her parents and just wrote a letter that was almost a suicide note..... The past of her short life reappeared in order and very quickly before her eyes.

With a bang, the thing exploded on the spot, and a black mass flooded her vision like lightning.

Her brain was almost blank, and her body was completely occupied by instinct. It wasn't until a large, rough, calloused hand grabbed her hair and slapped her twice that she woke up from the hysteria and realized that her throat had been damaged by the desperate cry she had just made, and that she could no longer speak for a short time.

It turned out that the bag just now contained Chute's homemade smoke bomb, and the explosion power was very small, but the characteristic pigment in the bomb body began to volatilize rapidly after being heated, and began to solidify after entering the air and being cold, forming a large number of tiny particles with colors to create a billowing smoke.

Akitha was now ashen and unsightly, and the close distance covered her face with black dust, coupled with the tears that had gushed out of her emotions just now, the two things mixed together made her face look pitiful and funny.

But no one here pitied her. A cold knife was placed directly in her face.

"Don't cry chick, you're crying so badly, if you dare to cry again, I'll pull out your hair, and then cut off your ears and fingers until you know how not to make noise." Akisha barely suppressed her flustered nod, and then the thug grabbed her by the hair and pulled her in the direction of the cover, followed by a kick that kicked her out in that direction, and the force was so great that Akisha almost thought her waist would break, and she screamed and staggered towards a big horse in that direction.

Just as her face was about to make intimate contact with the ground, another powerful hand grabbed her by the collar and then grabbed her in the arm like a chicken.

Her head hung upside down, her vision blocked by her own hair and dirt, but she still felt a pair of chilling eyes staring at her, like a pack of wolves staring at a foolish prey that had strayed into a pack.

The thugs were all strong and ruthless, and there was a silent tacit understanding between them, all of them were tall and fierce, and they generally wore combat armor or thick body armor, and most of their weapons were pistols and rifles in good condition.

It can be said that in the wasteland, such a group of people is almost overbearing. If they wanted to, some of the small tribes scattered in the wilderness would be slaughtered in an instant, and even some medium-sized settlements would be wiped out if they were not prepared for a sneak attack, their wealth would be plundered, and their population would be reduced to slavery.

"I've been holding back for a long time." A sullen voice rang out.

"How about giving me a little time? Some of you are about to get tired of it, right? Let's come together...."Akisha's whole body stiffened when she heard this, and cold sweat flowed out, and she cursed herself a hundred and twenty times in her heart, why did she have to leave the heavenly NcR interior and come to this wild ghost place like death.

"Just kidding, how can someone take it seriously?" There was a burst of laughter among the mob, but fortunately there seemed to be some consensus among them, and the conversation was really taken as a joke by everyone rather than further developed into a tragedy.

The sound of a fight came from not far away, and the thugs turned to see a one-eyed thug wearing an eye patch fighting Chute.

Although he was not tall, he was as strong as a stone pier. Chute was knocked down again and again by his playfulness, thumping on the rough ground.

Chute stood up over and over again like a tireless robot, one of his arms should have been wounded, and his movements were not smooth, but he still persistently fought against the thug in front of him, who was clearly dominant.

Moments later, one of the mobs spoke.

"Stop playing, you know we're in a hurry, hurry up." Chute was knocked to the ground again, and with a roar of rage, he pulled away the cloth that wrapped around his head, revealing a full-covered gas mask.

The eyepiece of the mask had cracked from the fight, so Chute pulled off the mask and threw it to the ground.

Beneath the mask, he revealed a terrifying face that seemed to be almost scarlet, covered with a thin layer of flesh and hair, which combined with the inhuman roar temporarily frightened the thugs as they prepared to continue.

"Bad luck, I said why is it so strict, it's a rotten corpse." The thug spat and felt like his fists were stained with the stench of ghouls.

It's a pity that this brief moment of opportunity didn't help Chute, who was obviously a well-informed person in the wasteland, not a greenhouse flower who didn't know what a ghoul was, or a tribe native with a strange superstition that ghouls were possessed by evil spirits.

He dodged Chut's flawed lunge at random, and then struck Chute's ribs with an elbow, and the terrible sound of broken bones immediately resounded in the air.

The grim voice that reminded the thug to speed up was heard again.

"Ghouls are useless, done." The short, one-eyed man grinned when he heard this, tilted his head, stepped forward and punched Chute who was still trying to shake his feet, and raised his thick short legs high and backwards after Chute fell to the ground on the spot, aiming at Chute's head was a few fierce football kicks, and the sound made people feel sore.

It wasn't until Chute had fallen silent that the smirkling fellow stopped his murderous behavior. Akisha, who had watched the atrocity from the gap in her hair, could no longer cry, and could not make any sound from her hoarse mouth.

The NcR had protected her so well, the ubiquitous guards, NcR soldiers, and elusive Rangers, as well as the strict laws of order that dispelled and suppressed most of the immediate darkness, that she had never imagined that the real wasteland might be like this.
