Chapter 554: Arrived
Ever since the deans of the various houses announced in the castle last week that the two schools participating in the Triwizard Tournament, Durmstrang and Beauxbatons, would arrive on the evening of October 30 (of course, the little wizards in physical education had learned the news earlier), there has been a sense of joy and anticipation in the castle.
Not to mention the young wizards, the large-scale visit of the school outside has not been seen by many professors who have taught at Hogwarts for most of their lives.
As the day approached, some unprecedented changes suddenly appeared in the castle.
For example, after Hermione's reminder, Harry and Ron noticed that the girls in their classmates and seniors were starting to be keen on dressing up, and the girls had much more elaborate hair accessories than before. For example, most professors work harder than they used to in their classes, as if they are afraid that the students from the two schools they visit will comment on the students they teach, which will make them feel disgraced.
The temperature at the end of October was quite cold, and although the sun was not blocked by the clouds, Harry, Ron, and Seamus walked out of the warm dormitory and went down to the foyer to be stirred up by the cold air pouring in from outside the door.
Girls tend to wake up a little earlier than boys, and Hermione doesn't go without saying.
Harry saw that the scrambled eggs on the plate in front of Hermione, who had the S'P'E'W BADGE PINNED TO HER CHEST, had been emptied, and the glass containing the milk had been half gone.
"Oh!"
Ron sat down across from Hermione excitedly, looking at the walls around the auditorium and excitedly,
"It's different, isn't it?"
Ron was talking about the new setup of the auditorium, the school's large hall that had been given a new look overnight. Huge silk banners hung on the walls, each representing one of Hogwarts houses: Gryffindor with a lion on a red background, Ravenclaw with a bronze eagle on a blue background, Hufflepuff with a black badger on a yellow background, and Slytherin with a silver python on a green background.
Behind the faculty table, directly in front of the auditorium, hung the largest banner with Hogwarts crests: a lion, an eagle, a badger, and a serpent linked together with a large letter H.
The young wizards at the four house heads' tables were all talking eagerly, and at such a moment, their conversation could only be related to the two schools they visited and the Triwizard Tournament.
Ginny and Colin are discussing how the two schools will visit.
"How will they get here?"
Colin asked with interest,
"By train? They're going to be here for a school year, so they must have a lot of luggage! โ
"Then they have to go to London before they can get on the Hogwarts train, there are so many of them, I'm afraid they will attract the attention of Muggles."
Harry was listening with his ears pricked up, and he subconsciously thought of the broomstick, but after thinking about it, he thought it was unlikely. Even Harry, who was a keen Quidditch enthusiast, had to admit that it wasn't a good idea to travel that far across borders on a broomstick.
"Professor McGonagall won't tell me how the Warriors were chosen--" George said to Ron resentfully, "she just told me to shut up and concentrate on my raccoon transformation." โ
Ron looked a little disappointed, he turned his head at Harry,
"I'm willing to bet you don't have to be an adult wizard to complete the competition, isn't it, we've done a lot of exciting things before, if we can get involved-"
Ron said in dismay,
"A thousand Galleons will at least make up for our losses at the Quidditch World Cup."
Harry didn't speak, he knew that Ron had been obsessed with the leprechaun gold coins that Bagman had given him, and to be honest, Harry himself couldn't believe that the head of the Department of Magical Sports and Sports of the Ministry of Magic, the famous Ludo Bagman, would deceive them for some gold, most likely, it was just Bagman who was mistaken, but Harry knew that Ron and his twin brother had written to Bagman to inquire about it, but they never got a reply, which made the truth of the matter a little strange.
Hermione, who had been reading, heard Ron's resentment, her eyelashes fluttered, she raised her head and was about to say something, and then, the person who walked into the auditorium from the second floor to the foyer made her look surprised,
"Professor Blaine?"
Hermione's exclamation attracted the attention of a crowd, and Harry whispered in surprise,
"When did he come back, oh, now, Snape had to give up his class time for the last class this morning, didn't he?"
Hermione thought Professor Bryan was coming to ask about the physical education training last Friday and Wednesday, but Professor Bryan waved to Fred and George.
"Fred and George, come with me, I've got something to look for you-"
With that, Professor Bryan took the bewildered twin brother.
"What's the trouble they're getting into?"
Ron frowned and stared at Professor Bryan and Fred and George as they walked out the door.
"Maybe it's a little warning to them--"
Hermione looked at Ron with a look of deep meaning in her eyes, "Professor Bryan probably thought about it, there will definitely be some young wizards who will ignore the rules and find ways to participate in the selection of warriors."
Fred and George came back sooner than expected, and to their bewilderment, they looked a little strange, looking happy, but also visibly lost, and George was clearly bulging in his bosom, as if he was hiding something.
"What's wrong?" After waiting for the twins to sit down, Ron immediately asked.
"The good news is--" George lifted the corner of his robe, revealing the money bag in his arms, and said with a slight smug brow, "we got the investment from Remus, a whole thousand Galleons!" โ
Smack!
Ron was struck by lightning, and the spoon in his hand landed on the silver platter with a crisp sound.
"And the bad news is--" Fred sighed, "Remus can't work with us to open a shop, Professor Bryan said, he's now the head of a workshop and doesn't have that much timeโ"
"Remus became the head of the workshop?" Harry blinked his turquoise eyes and asked in surprise, "Whose property?" โ
"I asked, but Professor Bryan wouldn't say--" George glared angrily at Professor McGonagall and Professor Bryan at the faculty table, "these adults always have secrets!" โ
"But--"
Harry thought hard, and Dudley, who looked a bit like he was doing math,
"Who's going to hire Remus, I mean. Except for Professor Dumbledore? โ
Harry looked at Hermione, and saw that Hermione was looking thoughtfully at Professor Brian, who was talking to Snape.
"Oh!" Harry came back to his senses, "It's possible! โ
"A thousand Galleonsโ" Ron muttered in a trance, "Can you believe it, Harry, we could have had so much gold, oh, Ludo Bagman. I've got to find him, and maybe, I can get my dad to help with the money. That's what we deserve."
The fact that Remus became a workshop owner and Fred and George received a real thousand Galleons became a hot topic in Harry's circles for a short time, and Ron was absent-minded for a day, not even paying much attention to the upcoming visits of Durmstrang and Beauxbatons.
But apart from a few of them, the rest of the young wizards were still concerned about the visiting guests.
Throughout the day, there was a sense of anticipation in the air. In class, no one was paying attention, and everyone thought that Beauxbatons and Durmstrang were coming tonight. Potions class wasn't as unbearable as usual, and in the last gym class of the morning, there were still a lot of people like Professor Bryan asking about the events of the game and how the Warriors were selected.
When the bell rang for the end of the afternoon, Harry, Ron, and Hermione hurried to the Gryffindor Tower, put down their bags and textbooks as instructed, put on their cloaks, and then took three steps and two steps down the stairs to the foyer.
It was a cold, airy evening, and night was falling, and a white, translucent moon was already hanging over the Forbidden Forest.
The deans of the four houses spared no effort to maintain order, and all the faculty and staff in the castle were all present, except for Hai, and they were also standing in a neat row at the back of the student queue, looking solemn, and even Filch took out his moldy tuxedo for this solemn occasion.
Professor Bryan and Professor Dumbledore were the only two professors at the front of the student queue, facing the direction of the Black Lagoon with calm expressions.
"Ah, if I'm not mistaken, Beauxbatons' representatives have arrived!"
As the young wizards waited impatiently, Dumbledore suddenly shouted.
Amosta raised her head slightly, her eyes dark.
It's all about to begin
