Chapter 169: Hearing the Sermon Again
Zhao Chuan listened to it for a long time, and suddenly remembered, isn't this person talking about the same set last time in Jingyuan Temple?
Zhao Chuan remembered it very clearly, because Fei Hongscarf was in the same group with them at that time.
Fei Hongscarf is the girl in the martial arts who met on the way to Mengcheng.
Zhao Chuan glanced at the stage for a long time, but he didn't see the girl Fei Hongscarf, only an old man was talking endlessly.
Seeing that Zhao Chuan was looking around, they all looked at him in disgust, and Zhao Chuan had to listen patiently.
Although there was a different person who preached today, Zhao Chuan listened to it for a while and felt that this person was also very interesting.
So he calmed down and listened carefully, only to hear the old man on the stage say:
"Let me give you a few examples here - there is an allusion between Wang Yangming and the old monk in history.
It is said that when Wang Yangming was in Hangzhou, he heard that there was a monk on the mountain who had been in retreat and cultivation for three years, not eating, drinking, or speaking.
Wang Yangming went to visit the old monk.
Wang Yangming already had a certain level of cultivation at that time, and after he saw the old monk, he knew that the old monk was not really settled, so he scolded the old monk loudly, "You old monk, what are you constantly looking at here?" What nonsense? ”
The old monk was very strange, so he said, "Little monk, I have been in retreat for three years, I don't see or speak, why do you say that I am talking nonsense?" ”
Wang Yangming said, "May I ask where you are from?" How long have you been here? ”
The old monk said, "I am from Henan, and I have been here for ten years. ”
Wang Yangming asked again: "Who else is in your family?" ”
The old monk said, "There is still an old mother at home, I don't know if she is still there." ”
Wang Yangming asked, "Do you miss her?" ”
The old monk said, "How can you not want to? ”
Wang Yangming said, "That's it, although you are sitting here, but you are thinking about your mother all the time, and you have been talking in your heart, how can you say that you are silent?" ”
So the old monk went down the mountain the next day and went back to see his mother.
As soon as the old man finished speaking, the people below laughed.
After everyone laughed, the old man continued-
"There is another example, which is the example of Zhang Zhishun. Someone packed his luggage and went up to Zhongnan Mountain with Daochang Zhang, wanting to accompany the old Taoist to practice, and he asked the old Taoist for advice on the way of cultivation.
Zhang Daochang said, "Although you are now in Zhongnan Mountain with me, your heart is like a backpack on your back, which is full of things. ”
Then he pointed to the house on the hill and said, "Your heart is like this house, there are more things than in the room, so how can you talk about cultivation like this?" ”
What do these two little stories tell us? That is, what is the basis of practice? It's not that you're meditating there, you're lucky, it's just practicing. If a person's mind is not disturbed, even if he only picks up water and chops wood every day, and has a comprehension of the Tao every day, then he is also practicing.
That is to say, cultivation must first have a psychological foundation.
Here, I would like to tell you about the second concept after the preacher, which is the concept of the dojo.
What does dojo mean? It's not a dojo in a Taoist temple, it's a dojo for your own practice.
Dojo dojo, so to speak, is a field.
Everyone has their own ashram, so you can say that where you are, where you are, it is your dojo.
Isn't the world a dojo?
Cultivation is not a castle in the air, you have to have your own ashram, you must first do a good job in your own ashram, you have to practice and demonstrate, so that you can complete the first step of monasticism.
Imagine a person who abandons his wife and children, goes to a temple on the mountain, and meditates and participates in meditation every day, is this considered a monastic?
Cultivation is full of dojos, if you can't fix it in a dojo, what's the use of running to the mountains?
So how should everyone practice in their own ashram? How to get things done? What kind of state should we reach to be considered to have begun to enter the Tao?
This is the third concept, which is called the Tao Law, that is, the method of cultivating the mind and doing things of the people in the Dao Gate.
Only by practicing the way of doing things and acting for people with the way of the Tao can it be regarded as the real beginning of entering the Dao Gate, and only then can it lay the foundation for the next higher level of cultivation.
Let's talk about so much for today, and in the next lesson we'll start talking about the Fa, which is the way the Taoists act for people.
Do you have any questions now? If you have any questions, just ask me directly, and I will answer you in a timely manner. ”
As soon as the old man finished speaking, the people below began to buzz.
After a while, someone stood up and asked, "Teacher, what do the gods eat?" Ha, I have a lot of questions, do you go to different places after the Taoist and Buddhist cultivation? What do you do after you finish it? Are the immortals also reincarnated in the past generations?
The old man on the stage laughed and said, "The gods eat things in the universe." The human world is just a dojo, and there are many places in the universe. If you want to experience the human world, you have to be reincarnated, and you have to borrow an entity.
After saying that, someone in the audience suddenly realized.
Someone shouted below and asked, "Teacher, hard work!" May I ask the teacher, what level of immortal is Da Luo Jinxian? Also, is the land of the "Land of the Dharma Wealthy" the dojo you just mentioned? ”
The old man smiled and said, "The earth does not refer to the dojo.
Then someone stood up and said, "Teacher, may I ask, mind cultivation means not having anything in your heart?" Is there peace of mind without shock? How many levels of monasticism are there, can you talk about it next?
The old man thought for a moment before he said, "No, there are levels of cultivation, and we have to do it level by level." In fact, if we want to talk about the level, when we talk about the world of immortals, we will inevitably talk about the generation of the universe and the level of the spirit, and we will have to talk about this even more.
Someone asked: The law is combined with yin and yang and the number of techniques, is it considered a cultivator? Is it counted as an immortal?
The old man replied: This is a method in the cultivation of Taoism, which belongs to the content of Taoism. There is a dojo, a dharma, and a dao.
Someone asked the teacher, is the happiness of contentment and happiness the happiness of longevity?
The old man said: It can be regarded as long-term happiness, which mainly refers to the joy of life.
Someone asked the teacher, what is the joy of life? Does it mean life? Or is it life?
The old man replied: No, life is infinite, endless.
Someone asked the teacher, is the psychological basis of cultivation the absence of desires and thoughts? Is it also the realm that has been achieved through the cultivation of the Dao Method? Or is it innate?
The old man said: It's not that there is no desire and no thought, but that the impulse thinks that harmony, music is the state of harmony, music is like the music of music, and music is a state of harmony.
There was a woman who was also listening in the crowd, she stood up, turned around and looked at the person behind her, raised her voice and asked: Teacher, this dojo in the world refers to the place where the human immortals and the earth immortals stay, and the heavenly immortals are in the sky? Are these different immortals different from each other because of their different levels of energy? Some people say that there are more than a dozen levels in the universe, and what is the corresponding energy range for each level?
The old man laughed and said: There is a difference between human immortals and earth immortals, and the universe can be said to have countless levels.
There was another laugh in the audience, I don't know who they were laughing at.
The woman didn't sit down, her face flushed, and she continued: After listening to the teacher's class, I have a deeper understanding of living in the moment, eating well when eating, doing things well, don't do this and think about that, be peaceful and happy in your heart, and be grateful to the teacher.
The old man nodded in satisfaction and motioned for her to sit down.
Before the woman sat down, she said, "Thank you, teacher, I look forward to you teaching more knowledge." The current understanding is to cultivate oneself and mind, and to do a good job in the present moment.
The old man laughed again and said, "Yes, you are right to understand it this way, in fact, this is what I want to tell you, and this is also the first step in cultivation."
Another woman stood up and asked: After the immortal is reincarnated, the memory will be erased, or will all the memories be retained? "Between the parade and the world, beyond the sight and ears." Is it considered a human immortal? "The sergeant enlightened and was promoted to a heavenly official; Sergeant Xiuzhi, Nangong Lie Immortal; The corporal got it, and he lived for a long time. Parade to the Three Realms and ascend to the Golden Gate. Is it the level of gradual ascension of the practice, or is it the first level that you reach directly after the practice, depending on the upper and lower roots of the person?
This question seems to be asked at a high level, and anyway, many people in the audience began to bite their ears.
It seems that some people may not even understand the question, but Zhao Chuan has gone to a private school, so he doesn't feel that there is anything he doesn't understand.
The old man looked at the audience and said slowly: The immortals are from history, how can they erase their memories? Even if it is an earth immortal, it is also a level of cultivation.
Someone asked the teacher if the process of constantly extinguishing desires is the joy of life.
The old man said: No, desire is the process of self-elimination, and if you are happy, you will want to disappear, but there will also be other desires, and the gods also have desires, and the immortals also have desires, and what you ask for is not desire? For example, if a person says that he wants to cultivate immortals, he says that he wants to have no desires and no desires, isn't cultivating immortals the greatest desire?
Someone asked: Sir, is this also the reason why our Chinese civilization has continued and endured? Can it be understood that every time there is troubled times, there will be immortals who will come down to save my people?
The old man waved his hand and said, "No."
Someone asks Hello Teacher! In your lecture, you said, "The Great Dao is not empty, it is not empty. Lao Tzu said, nameless, the beginning of heaven and earth, famous, the mother of all things. Nameless and famous, in fact, are the same thing. "There is a version that there is none, the beginning of the world; Yes, the mother of all things. What are the differences between the two versions?
The old man shook his head and said, "These two mean the same thing."
Someone asked the teacher if he could understand it this way, that cultivating the Tao is about the state of mind?
The old man nodded: The first thing to cultivate in the Tao is the mentality.
There was a man who was five big and three rough, got up and asked: Teacher, do immortals also have to experience growth after being reincarnated, and if they are disturbed by the world, will they use special skills to do good things or evil things, and will they leak their heavenly secrets when they help others?
Are those who draw talismans and chant mantras also Taoists? Or is it just a school of techniques? Nowadays, many divination and hexagram help people see Feng Shui, what does it belong to?
The old man sighed and said, "These will be talked about later."
Someone asked the teacher, for the immortals, do time and space still exist?
The old man said: Time and space are not distinguished by people and immortals. Originally, I just wanted to talk about it in general terms, but now it seems that this topic is a bit big. Actually, my original intention was to make it possible for everyone to live a good life, because medicine is a way of life, and cultivation is also a way of life.
Well, that's all for today.
The old man looked at the people below, smiled, and then waved his hand, and the people disappeared immediately!
