Chapter 37: The Suspect (Asking for Recommendation)
The two wings of the Hippogriff were spread out and almost twelve feet long, like a small airplane.
Matthew could only bend over and try to hug its neck.
The two wings were constantly flapping, which also made Matthew feel uncomfortable, because his calves would trip over every now and then, as if they might be thrown off the bird's back at any moment.
The smooth feathers slid under his fingers, but he didn't dare to pull them hard, for fear of angering the giant bird, so he could only hold his neck as hard as he could.
The hind legs of the Hippogriff rose and fell with the flapping of its wings, and Matthew felt himself jolting violently up and down.
Everything on the ground began to shrink at a speed visible to the naked eye.
The wind whistled in his ears, the air whistling through his hair, and his robes fluttering behind him......
Matthew struggled to open his eyes and looked around.
The sun hasn't fully risen yet, but it's already dawn.
Suddenly, he had a wonderful feeling that everything was in full view, as if they were all under his control!
Is this what it is like to fly......
......
Until the Hippogriff landed in Professor Kettleburn's cabin, Matthew's legs were still trembling slightly.
"Wakefield, your after-school practice is over for the week!" Professor Kettleburn jumped off the Hippogriff's winged beast as well.
He laid down the unicorn's carcass, and then on the roof beam of the hut, he took down a plucked pheasant.
"And then, little one!" he tossed the pheasant at the Hippogriff.
The Hippogriff leaped high, took the pheasant, and began to tear with its talons as it began its breakfast.
"Professor Kettleburn!" Matthew suddenly remembered something, and he hurriedly handed the teapot in his hand back to Professor Kettleburn.
"Oh shit, I almost forgot about it!" Professor Kettleburn patted his head, and he quickly and carefully took the teapot and placed it on a wooden table in front of the cabin.
"I should have taken it back when I left the Forbidden Forest, or it would have been terrible if you had dropped it while flying!" Professor Kettleburn muttered to himself.
Matthew's legs were no longer shaking, and he also patted the feathers on his robe: "Then Professor Kettleburn, the after-class practice is over, can I go back?"
"Of course. Professor Kettleburn nodded: "The Lord has an accident today, and I will also go to the castle again and tell Principal Rozier about the attack on the unicorn......"
As he spoke, Professor Kettleburn once again carried the unicorn's corpse on his back.
"That's great!" Matthew thought to himself.
It's only a quarter past six in the morning, and if you go back to the castle now, the weekend won't be delayed at all.
"We can go to the castle together......" Professor Kettleburn was stunned as he spoke.
His eyes looked in the direction of the Forbidden Forest, and his face gradually became solemn.
Because at this time, there was a figure, some sneakily out of the forbidden forest.
......
Professor Kettleburn drew his wand and walked forward.
"Who!" he exclaimed.
After getting a few dozen yards closer, he could see who the man who had come out of the Forbidden Forest was—
"Professor Troka?" Professor Kettleburn seemed relieved, "It turned out to be you, I thought it was a student who sneaked into the Forbidden Forest......"
What came out of the Forbidden Forest was indeed Professor Troka, the Transfiguration teacher.
His face was slightly healthier than before, less haggard and pale.
When stopped by Professor Kettleburn, Professor Troka seemed startled.
"Good morning...... Professor Kettleburn ......," he stammered.
As he spoke, he glanced at the rising sun on the skyline with some horror.
"Why are you here?" questioned Professor Kettleburn, looking up and down with a skeptical look.
"I just heard about Hogwarts' Forbidden Forest...... You can find a wrinkled fig......" Professor Troka replied intermittently, "so I came here to find ......"
"Then there's no need to be so early, is it?" Professor Kettleburn's skeptical look remained, "It's just past six o'clock...... Also, did you find it?"
"Of course......" Professor Troka nodded and then quickly shook his head, "I mean, I haven't found ...... yet"
"Then the next time I go to the Forbidden Forest, I'll help you find a few. Professor Kettleburn said coldly.
"Thank you so much......" Professor Troka nodded quickly, he looked very anxious, and glanced at the sky again: "I have to go back to the castle, Professor Kettleburn, we will talk next time......"
With that, he walked briskly in the direction of the castle without looking back.
Professor Kettleburn frowned as he glanced at Professor Troka's back in the distance, and then at the unicorn's corpse.
"Let's go to the castle too, Wakefield!" he hadn't forgotten about the other student.
It's just that there is no response.
It looks like Matthew Wakefield has left early.
"Now these young men!" Professor Kettleburn shook his head helplessly, and walked towards Hogwarts Castle.
......
On the second floor of Hogwarts Castle, the office of the Deputy Headmaster, Professor Vita Rozier—
Professor Rozier had woken up early and arrived in her office. Right now, she's drinking black tea.
Suddenly, there was a banging knock on the door.
Professor Rozier frowned, put down the black tea in his hand, and closed the lid at the same time.
Then, she said, "Please come in!"
"Professor Rozier!" Professor Kettleburn pushed open the door and limped in, placing the unicorn's body on the ground.
"Sivanos, what's going on?" Professor Rozier asked softly, looking at the corpse on the ground.
"This unicorn, murdered, less than an hour ago...... When I found its body, it was still warm. Professor Kettleburn quickly explained.
As he spoke, Professor Rozier had bent down to examine the corpse on the ground.
"The blood is drained...... she muttered.
"That's right!" Professor Kettleburn nodded.
Professor Rozier seemed to be stunned, as if he was thinking about something—
After a few minutes, she finally spoke again: "I know, Sivanos...... Leave this body here, and I'll check it again. ”
"Okay. Professor Kettleburn stopped talking.
"Anything else?" Professor Rozier looked up.
"Yes...... Not long after I found the unicorn's corpse, on the edge of the Forbidden Forest, I met Professor Troka, who looked sneaky ......," Professor Kettleburn whispered.
"Professor Troka. Professor Rozier's expression didn't fluctuate, she just nodded slightly, "Okay, I see, Sivanos." ”
"Then I will take my leave, ma'am!"
Professor Kettleburn soon left the office.
Professor Rozier waved his wand slightly, and a cabinet on one side was automatically opened, and the unicorn's corpse flew into the cupboard—
Professor Rozier returned to her seat.
She also picked up the cup of black tea again and took a sip gently.
A drop of black tea accidentally fell to the ground......
It's a strange color, it's red, like the red of blood!
